I have a whiny bio??? That's a new comment I got. I guess cuz I mention that I don't cyber and don't care to hear how good people are in bed. LMAO Is that whiny? oh, and haughty.. my whining bio is haughty is what the reader said. So, I suppose you're a snob if you don't cyber with the masses? lol

Ok, this post may be whiny..
lol

One woman's info is another man's ____?

Not sure that Strunk & White would be very applicable for literature, but may have some value for expository prose. But just a a means to the end. In a scientific article, for example, you want the reader to focus on the subject you're making a statement about. I may have a copy someplace, but not in use.

There is a place in my heart soft for the encyclopedic/lecturer/professorial voice that takes warping detours. Last night I stumbled upon an old file that had been an entry for a Lit contest (2005), which had that sort of flavor. I was not going to read it because I feared it would cause embarrassment. But I was somewhat surprised, because it didn't cause as much embarrassment as I'd feared. Could be a new way to go, or an old way to revisit. It was fun. Which really, when all's said and done, is what really matters.

I get those PMs that ask if I want to chat privately with a 23 year old male ..... I answer truthfully that I am about to hit 60 am overweight wear glasses and have false teeth and I don't think there is anything they could offer me in the way of excitement. Funnily enough I don't get many replies

Got one PM from a woman who said nothing started her day off like an erotic email. I complied, but never heard back. Maybe didn't work for her, but did give me starting point for poem for my wife. Got a couple of emails over the past year or so from women wanting to make contact. I responded with a positive tone, but not too positive. The young women from Russia's mailbox was full, the apparently Christian woman never responded. Not sure what I'd do if I got a response, since I'm not looking for someone.

Blankie needed .... it's my own fault I didn't pay the bill I forgot I thought I had my memory is getting terrrible ....... but oh when he gets angry he hurts he hurts with words :(

Sorry Annie for the belated arrival of comfort. Not meaning to be unsociable. Just engaged in the waging of battle with the usual personal issues.

Sure, Annie- just know that my Facebook is very PG! Some of my family and friends on there do not know that I write erotica.

I have been thinking about something for the last couple days and would appreciate some feedback. Obviously, I am not in a financial position to help with what's going on in Haiti. Over the last few years, I have gotten into the habit of asking myself "How can I?" whenever my quickest answer is "I can't." I must have been working on that subconsciously, because I got an idea long after I had consciously let it go.

We have so much talent here at Lit. I'm literally in awe of the poets here- especially since I would not have expected such on this type of website. What does this have to do with Haiti? Well, I was wondering if it was even feasible to put together a poetry chapbook with poems donated by Lit poets with all the proceeds going to the Red Cross.

Now, obviously, poetry isn't an incredible money-maker. But, I know that books can be sold on Amazon for free with their print-on-demand service called CreateSpace. Laurel may also have some ideas. I'm not sure how to set up the account so that all the money would go to the Red Cross, but maybe either Amazon or the Red Cross could advise on that.

This is the first that I am mentioning this idea to anyone. So, any feedback? Suggestions? Interest? Is it just not plausible or pointless?

I will be very good about what I say to you on FB lol as for the rest I'd say make this a thread on it's own so that everyone can read it that might not necessarily come to this one you could also nudge Angeline and Eve in it's drection via PM.

The chapbook idea might provide a little more, not sure (and no idea on how one proceeds).
There are a lot of aid links out there already - the USGS earthquake page for this Haiti event even has one to the White House page for help, with the Bush-Clinton program, Red Cross and other links. I've never seen that before there - usually just scientific info, including for other recent severe quakes.

I love my psychiatrist, but I hate his vocabulary. He uses words like "Seroquel" and "hospitalization."

Does sound kinda scary, with talk like that. Hope you are able to come to terms with whatever you need, whether you follow his course or another.
I pray you can continue with your writing and art - it may help dealing with those internal issues. :rose:
Lately (like last couple days) I've come to a more peaceful acceptance with my ghost - might express it in a poem with a title like "The Unwritten Letter". I have no idea why my state has improved nor if it will last.

sanctuary I claim sanctuary not from anything on this messageboard but from some plonker lying through his teeth and stirring the proverbial and trying to involve me in his pathetic little disputes

UYS,
my daughter asked me what biscuits are called in England. If cookies are biscuits, what are biscuits called?

Is that a regional variation? I got the impressions of different sounds as you went from south to north.

so, then what is a scone called? lol

I got the prettiest journal with my Amazon gift certificate from Survivor. I also got a book on writing descriptively- Word Painting. I added these things to my goalplan.org Amazon store and then ordered them so that I would get commission. lol Well, I started writing every day and got into a routine of relaxing with playing with words. It seems to be helping.

Today, I start the Seroquel. My doctor assures me that it will not be as bad as it was when I tried Seroquel 2 years ago since he prescribed the extended release Seroquel this time. The last time, I was supposed to start on 50 mg and couldn't get up in the morning. My doctor had me cut them in half. It took me over a month to get used to 25 mg without oversleeping. When I took 50 mg again, I woke up 17 hours later. So, yeah, it better not have that effect. Wish me luck.
