TSCLT 12.0: The pantheon hates a pussy 2.0

Happy Sunday!!! Was awake for a chunk during the night but hung in there and fell back asleep. Everyone is fed and I washed a few dishes alone. No supervision. It's a wonder I did it right.

Warmer today. Yesterday was great. So is coffee . . . .

Got rid of another pair of these salvage thingies. Got paid. Booyah!!!

Had a friend text me on the proper method to drill a hole into some piece of shit that he's trying to salvage/not to break. They always ask me. I should be honored, I suppose.

Kitten is resting over there >>>>>

Yeah, you too, in case you didn't know it.

Got a kitchen experiment going in the other room. I like cooking for the week. I can also share some of it with Dr. Tyler, who isn't much for cooking.

We had a weird phone call earlier. She's moody sometimes . . . .

Happy Monday!!! Good sleep, happy fed cats, and a warm one today in the forecast. No matter. We should have wood butchers, there is a video conference, and there's an appointment with the concrete guy - maybe. If he fucking shows.

And not a fucking thing before nagging Allah and a pot of coffee . . . .

42 (American) here on Savage Mountain this morning. I think that's the death knell for my Romas. Cabbage and cukes will be ok. I guess I'll be eating kraut and pickles with my pasta this winter.

I spent maybe 45 minutes cleaning an old grungy cookie sheet once. Then I discovered years later that a new one is maybe $5.

Old kitchen pots-n-pans do make great shop implements, though. I use an old roaster pan for soaking stuff in Evaporust.

Id like to soak those in something.

Yeah, I'm a big fan.

Busy damned morning here on the jobsite. Got 4 subs for the first time ever. Four companies, not 4 guys. I'm nearly speechless. Got the concrete guy out finally and went over all of his figures. Translation: he and I went through the plans together to make sure (me) that the sub (he) had all of the numbers he needed to do his quote. All he has to do is attach some prices and his shit should be golden.

By any means necessary . . . .

I went into the garden after work today and gathered a bushel of romas and a quarter bushel of cherrys. I also managed some leeks, green onions, celery, broccoli and spinach. The pressure canner is going now, and the freezer will have new additions before morning.

Home. Having leftovers from yesterday's taste treat. It seems tohave improved a bit overnight.

Got a call from the cable company "engineer." Did I have the coordinates from the sweatbox? Yeah, when pigs fly or I need to call in an air strike. "So, you don't know where your trailer is?" I'm standing 10' from it and know exactly where it is. Seems like you don't.

Happy Tuesday!!! Slept pretty well, which after the busy day yesterday, I'm not surprised. Hot, too. A bit cooler today and tomorrow, and warming again with an odd very hot day come Friday. Then cooling again. We should have wood butchers and a wire butcher today.

We do have coffee now . . . .

An insurance company sent me a two party check. Bastards. Two party checks are all but impossible to deposit.

Busy day for old Johnny. Got my judge-seein' suit on, going to the gun store, going to the bank, going to the Ford store to see about a new turbo, and I think I'll sneek a nap in there somewheres.

Wat's moving right along today, too. Waiting for an appointment and then have to go to the box store to get mo' goodies for the wood butchers. I think we can get this thingie done when we need it done, but folks have to show up and kick a bit of old fashioned 'Murrikan ass.

Lunchtime. Today is going a lot smoother than yesterday, mostly because I'm ignoring those who are in my way, with the help of minions of course. I'm even smiling today. And after work will be quiet, we have rain moving in again so the garden will be left alone for the day.

Home. Grazing outta da fridge. Did stop at the vegibble stand to get some more maters and another cantaloupe. They have been good eatin' the last couple of weeks.

There was an improvised solution required for the new wall heaters. A thing to do with the temp knob, which was round and needed to be a lever. Wat has seen this thing before and has made do with alternative parts. First idea worked, so Wat made a video and sent it to the boss. He loved it. Go figure . . . .

And I never posted this.

Happy Wednesday!!! Slept great last night. Coffee's done.

The old anvil books I ordered last week arrived yesterday. Cheapest deal online.

You are not happy because you are well. You are well because you are happy. You are not depressed because trouble has come to you, but trouble has come to you because you are depressed. You can change your thoughts and feelings, and then the outer things will come to correspond, and indeed there is no other way of working.

Walking Through Roxbury

By: Jack Kerouac

I took a stroll through Roxbury,
enlightenment was obtained, in a meaningless poetic sense.
Homeless men's faces shout such agony,
they evoke images of tortured souls in a science fiction movie.
Concrete all perfectly disorganized,
like a tile floor at a government building smashed repeatedly by a disgruntled employee.
Cars rush by like ants in their endless toil,
sky leaks darkness upon artificial attempts to beat nature.

Trash lines the street like flaws litter my character.
Trash trucks come and collect these flaws,
take them out of view, so it doesn't look dirty.
But although this takes it out of public concern,
the trash has to be taken somewhere.
You can't just will the trash out of existence,
it has to be allowed to fester and decompose.

That's why the trucks take the trash off some forgotten highway,
to let it do its time removed from first impressions.
So God bless those trash trucks,
because without them, there would still be the same amount of trash,
but people would be constantly reminded of what a trashy place this is.

Talking with contractors today, some mine, some for another project that I'm volunteering on but others are paying for, and since it's raining I expect they'll be on time, and most likely have their trucks with nails in them.
