Happy Monday!!! House guest is up and gone already. There's something to getting an early start. And it's a sorta holiday today. Gonna be a grind of a kind at work today. No matter - it's all happened before.
After coffee, at least.
Zen meditation is not physical culture, nor is it a method to gain something material. It is peacefulness and blessedness itself. It is the actualization of truth and wisdom.
Happy Tuesday!!! Slept decently. It's still chilly in the morning, and the heat still runs regularly. The youngest cats are playing rough this morning. It's funny when that happens.
Had a long chat with the boss yesterday. We have some shit to fix after last Friday's reintroduction of st000pid, but we're gonna live.
And we're gonna coffee, too.
Tung-shan was asked, "The normal mind is the way; what is the normal mind?"
He replied, "Not picking things up along the road."
My motorcycle magazine is having "issues." Yeah, I know. They sent something last week called Jan/Feb, and today, March arrived. They did have an excuse in last month's printing - they needed a new printer. Makes sense, I reckon.
Have not ever a problem with Alaska Air pilfering stuff in luggage. Back in 1975, they did loose a HP EDM on the flight from Valdez to Anchorage. But, I didn't have to deal with it because that flight back was my last day working for that company,
I have enjoyed some last days working for some companies. People got to work for companies, and they quit bosses.
Today, in a word, sucked. That said, it was as good as possible considering. Free whore and half a gallon of whiskey might have improved it, but it's a school night and it'll start again all over tomorrow.
Happy Thursday!!! Almost wrote Wednesday, but let's not have that day back, shall we??? Bearing in mind that yesterday's suction was 1, perception, and 2, yesterday's, we shall move happily and positively onward. The Zen is in the being present, the Right Now.
And in this coffee cup . . . .
It is not that anger and desire are inherently evil or that we should feel ashamed when they arise. It is a matter of seeing them as the delusions that they are: distorted conceptions that paint a false picture of reality. They are negative because they lead to unhappiness and confusion.

Brehon Somervell was responsible for organizing US military logistics during the war. He made sure that the troops received everything churned out by the might of US industry in time, by the schedule and in plentiful amounts. Ever heard of the tale about the German lieutenant who realized the war was lost after capturing an American encampment in the Ardennes and finding a chocolate cake baked in New York a day ago among other supplies? That is how good Somervell’s system was, able to make speedy deliveries of absolutely non-essential luxuries like cakes to the frontlines while the Germans struggled with supplying even the basics like ammunition and fuel. The United States troops of the day had neither the numbers that the Soviets did, nor the professionalism of the British and Germans. What they had was by far the best logistics system of any fighting power, capable of supplying not just themselves but also their allies, and it was in large part thanks to Gen. Somervell. One could say he is the one who made the US into a military superpower - even in present day, the United States military might relies on being able to ship more stuff to anywhere in the world faster than anyone else.
In other news, today is starting off little better'n yesterday. Wat will become weary scourging the masses to work more effectively. El Jefe knotted a few knickers last night, and now I'm getting annoying calls to do what I have already done. Ain't bosses grand???
