Today makes 13 years since he closed on this house. Same address the entire time. That's pretty good.

The heat shows up today. I guess we'll get a chance to check out the a/c system and see what happens.


And it's the last day that a lot of crap that lives here will live here. This is feeling like such a good idea . . . .

Yeah, we are well into the muggy Mississippi season.
Even when it cools into the 70s
the humidity just sucks the life out of you.

On top of that, the river is running as high as it's run since I've been here.
It will test the levees. We have low parts of town that are still nothing more than ponds.

So, if it keeps on rain', levee's gonna break.


At least it ain't Chicago.


But I understand that there's some lovely upcoming oceanfront property in Arizona.

Woke up to a busted coffee maker, not to worry I have a backup. But some lucky store is going to be seeing me later. I get to take advantage of their Memorial Day sales. The damn thing blowing up when it did may actually be a blessing.

This coffee maker has been lobbying to get replaced, but it's decided to behave better this weekend, so it's earned a reprieve.


For the moment. its manifold sins are duly recorded.

There is a PBS series that I watch as regularly as I can. It's called "Closer to the Truth." Very heavy duty philosophy that takes no particular position but explores ALL positions. If you like brain exercises I highly recommend.
