"Up Front" UPDATES

Now that I think of it, my mother never gave me that advice. And she modeled the opposite shall we say?
Yes, I know quite a few who do not practice what they preach.

MY mom, on the other hand, she was pretty good at that. I'm one of the lucky ones, in that respect.

Luckily, my father did live as an example of kindness, consideration, tact, and fairness. I was very lucky in that way.

I’m noticing a number of people are adding the comment that all characters in the image are over the age of 18.
I noticed that too. Just coverin' their asses?
This latest was a new member.

It is a bit more curious with drawings.

I am also suspicious. That (new) user has two images published and I feel they are not by the same illustrator.
One is posted elsewhere as part of a comic. Of course that is possible.

My advice to these artists is stop adding the the disclaimer and just make your characters look like they’re adults! The new images today looked pretty darn adult to me so I didn’t understand the need for the disclaimer. Some in recent days, in my opinion, shouldn’t have been put up at all…even with the disclaimer.

I have begun adding to my illustrations:

"Drawn in an environment which often contains at least one nut"

Two today. (Monday.May 27. 2024)

One "DAZ" (or whatever CGI) *meh*
One pushing the boundaries of age ("19 year old" with mommy/daddy theme)

Is that person screaming for attention? Why else would they continue with this rule breaking/not real rule breaking because the artist said the character is 19?

Submitted my 100th post (last?).

Probably not, but LIT isn't all that satisfying.

mostly it makes me sad because I don’t like hearing that you are unsatisfied. I hope you’ll stay around, but if you don’t, I hope even more that you will find a site that’s more engaging and fun. You have so much talent and personality to share..

well, this makes me very sad. mostly it makes me sad because I don’t like hearing that you are unsatisfied. I hope you’ll stay around, but if you don’t, I hope even more that you will find a site that’s more engaging and fun. You have so much talent and personality to share..

Thank you.

Oh. I'll probably still hang around. I just question posting more images up front, as it feels rather fruitless.

Too much work.

And, I've felt this quite a few times in the past, yet here I is.
"I got nowhere else to go" (I'm no officer nor a gentleman).

I agree about the upfront posting. It’s worth it for stories obviously because that’s the only way stories get seen , but for art I find my thread offers much more human interaction.

🤏. <Maybe this much more.

wow! You even know how to put emojis or whatever that is in your messages! I would say that if I had the energy to maintain private messages or conversations or whatever they’re called with people I would have a very busy “social life.“ Maybe that’s because I’m a woman. It’s not the case in real life! But I guess you have to go out and be among the people to establish and maintain a very busy social life or any social life at all. I can’t do either, the online or the in person sustained interactions. That spoon thing still restricts me.

I hear ya.

There's heaps of stuff buried in the tool bars. And yet... not always just what you want.

I don't get many PMs. I generally do not initiate them either — I feel women must get inundated with creepy dude messages.

🤏🤌I found the Pinchy fingers! Yay! But it’s strange that you have to think up what you want a picture of and then see if it’s available rather than simply laying out all of the choices like my phone does. I might not know what I want unless I see it I wasn’t sure where the Pinchy finger was since it didn’t show up in the first set of emoticons emoji images whatever the hell those things are called so I put in “hands” no luck. Then I I just guessed and put in “pinch” and there they were! I don’t initiate PMs and though I have received requests and with a few made an attempt to build the conversation it became a parent that I don’t have the spoons to keep that up. I continue to dictate these messages so poor in tax punctuation mistakes, etc.. I’m just letting them slide.

I generally click on the smilies icon and then scroll. If you hover over a particular icon you'll see the descriptor (and text code).

Sometimes I'll take a stab at a description to try and find something.

In this case, I had no idea if there WAS a "just this much hand/fingers", but knew there were a pile of hands/gestures, so I scroll to those and found the one. Then highighted and increased the font size (sometimes that doesn't seem to work, tho')

Wow, I am actually truly impressed by that. You’ve opened up a whole New World to me. I knew it was a justice much gesture, but I didn’t think I could put that in as a search word/words so I just put pinch.
