Veroe's world of geeky things

If they did go with JGL I assume they'd just have him play Bruce Wayne. Nolan's vision of Gotham and his Batman movies are independent of the way you'd do a Justice League movie.

That said, I don't think you could go with JGL given his ties to how DKR ended.

Yeah, but JGL wasn't Bruce Wayne in DKR. So why would they cast him as Bruce Wayne in the Justice League? That's contradictory...on one hand you're linking Justice League to the Dark Knight trilogy and on the other hand starting fresh tabula rasa style. It'll give people fits trying to figure out how they fit together.

slips out of the thread, where she obviously doesn't belong, mistletoe hidden behind her back.

Sorry if I offended, Veroe.

( *giggles* she is not sorry at all not one bit :)..she thought mistletoe kisses were geeky! :eek:0

No offense taken, Yeishia.

Mistletoe kisses are geeky:D

May I?:kiss::kiss:

That's essentially the point I was making. The actor is now associated with how Nolan's trilogy went and you can't just shake that off. While he's a talented actor when you go for a Justice League movie you need to move away from what Nolan did. As awesome as Nolan's trilogy is you have to go in a different direction with it. Honestly I don't know who I would cast as Bruce Wayne for a Justice League movie, but I've been considering who would be my dream choice for a bit now.

No leaving my Angel. You are most certainly wanted here. So few women in the geeky world, one who comes willingly and with kisses is to be cherished and worshiped.

Truth in all points made. Stay Yeishia, please.

My geeky thoughts today which has absolutely NOTHING to do with the previous conversation.

Desire from the Sandman comics.

S/he has captured my imagination in a way I can not really explain. AN embodiment of all things sexual, sensual, beautiful. Male/female. Can be any shade, any sex, anything.

And then there is Death.

Death_of_the_Endless(1).jpg

She is the end of the journey. Can you imagine being brought out into eternity, help in the sparkle of her eyes?

It's such an odd concept but fits the ideal of Death much better than our current mythology of Death upon a pale horse, holding a scythe and nothing but bones.

Makes me glad I've stopped reading Spiderman. I'm not sure how successful Doc Ock as spiderman will be. But I think killing off Peter Parker isn't the answer.

Similar to this. That was my reaction when I heard Joseph Gordon Levitt was being considered for Batman in the Justice League movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7GlP0NMKSo

How can you have a justice league movie without Bruce Wayne? The great thing about the Justice League and team up movies is the character interactions, and I really liked the relationship Bruce and Superman develop, the relationship between him and Wonder woman...the relationship between Bruce and the whole team. You'd sacrifice all that by making Batman JGL instead of Bruce who has a different personality than Bruce as Batman ever did, and if they did try and make his personality as close to Bruce's I'd be even more dissapointed.

Fortunately I've just heard this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJkkK9L1ZlI Which seems like the only way for it to go considering the state DC movies are in right now to me.

Well let's see, they tried to kill of Captain America and he came back, DC did the whole killing off of Batman with Battle for the Cowl and he came back. The reason Spider-Man is my favorite super hero is despite all the crap he goes through, he's still rather light hearted despite his gloomy in his life (trust me it's been stacking up). I pray this doesn't stick

Honestly, I can't see JGL as Batman. Not so much because he was the DKR but he just seems kind of scrawny. Even if he did get ripped, he's only 5'10. He also doesn't give off that Batman vibe either.

Exactly, which was probably one of the points of casting him in DKR. He's not the Batman or the Robin type we expect so the reveal was more effective. Though I think he'd be able to pull off nightwing.

Do you think they'll have the actor from Man of Steel as superman in the Justice League movie?

My understanding is that's the plan. They want to use the Man of Steel to get the DC universe going kind of the way Iron Man did for Marvel.

Though speaking of Superman, think Brandon Routh could do a good Bruce Wayne?

Perhaps, though I think they would want to steer away for Superman Returns in every way possible.

I don't know, and I hate hate playing this game with actors who you do/don't think can play a part.

Back before the dark knight everyone didn't think Heath Ledger could play the Joker and then they saw him in the part when the movie came out and now his performance is the standard everyone will strive for with the character.

People threw a stink about Mark Ruffalo getting cast as Banner in Avengers until they saw the movie, and his performance nearly steals the movie.

People, you included Rider, didn't know about Chris Evans playing Cap because they had his performance as Johnny Storm in their minds, and he's gotten the character of Steve Rogers down within reason IMO. I'm a cap fan too so Evans has a good deal of weight to lift on getting the character right with the both of us. And I'm always aware of that, and aware that very very few actors will be able to capture the character within the expectations we have of him. So I looked for an awareness of the essence of the character in his performance, and in that regard I don't think Evans has dissapointed us yet. Steve Rogers is a subtle character to get right without playing it like Dudley Do-right and I am satisfied with his efforts to navigate those straits.

People count out actors for parts they're up for because they don't have a british accent, or isn't a natural blond (like they've never heard of hair dye or a wig for gods sake), or is too tall like Hugh Jackman was for Wolverine. When none of that really matters outside of the craft of even a decent actor to become a character and the moviemagic of hollywood.

Actors do the same with famous stage roles like Jean Valjean or MacBeth all the time. You talk about Mel Gibson's Hamlet as compared to at least a hundred other actors' attempts at the character and each one subtly different and nuanced portraying different shadings and tones of the exact same character.

Brandon Routh is an actor, I thought he did a decent job as Superman (My problems with that film doesn't really involve him), but becoming a character is his job, so maybe he'd be like Ledger as the new Batman and surprise and wow everybody if he gets cast in future Batman films.

Unlike some I'm not going to count him out just because of my limited and rather narrow expectations of the character if he's chosen I'm going to see the movie and give him the benefit of the doubt until and unless he proves me wrong. Then I'll have his efforts of capturing the character to judge, rather than my narrow type-casting prejudices of him.

Its called being an actor people.

Alright a Doctor Who question for you;

Favorite Doctor Who villian?

Own This World

"Own This World" is a location based game for iPad/iPhones, Windows Phones, and Android phones/tablets that uses your actual real world location -- as indicated by your device's GPS system -- to both allow you to produce and deposit troops and allow you to attack troops belonging to other players, thus allowing you to conquer territories around the world.

I have only been playing for 6 months, but I am addicted. I am ranked in the top 100 players in the world -- out of some 8,000 playing at last count -- and the alliance of players I am in is ranked in the top 5 and has members in most of the states of the US as well as half a dozen other countries.

On weekends, when I have nothing better to do, I go on road trips to see interesting things in my state ... and conquer new territories.

After asking about the expense of gasoline, a relative of mine called it a waste of money and time. My response was, "I could be at a bar buying $5 drinks, eating stale peanuts, and picking up on loose women who will only cause me heart ache and pain... Would that be less of a waste?"

The creatures are pretty cool, as for the graphic novel, while I like the art style of the book itself, I'm not to keen on the faces as they seem kind of anime-ish which I'm not to fond of same goes with brown. Regardless, I think your sis should keep drawing. Not everyone will like her stuff, but in no way should that deter her.

Thanks Spec. She's a manga nut so I'm surprised its not more anime-ish.
