AI needs to be restrained through existing copyright and likeness laws. If AI "writes" a song without permission, and has a dead singer "sing" it, then the singer's estate is entitled to ALL of the proceeds, including those monies which were used to support the data center and electronic costs, PLUS DAMAGES from the person who used AI to create the infringing work. Same with written works, if AI is used to "complete" a book written by an author, the author's estate is entitled to the money, plus the same type of damages.

BTW, most of the publishing agencies now have notices that they don't accept AI created works no matter whose name is on the cover.

Once you take all the money out of the use of AI for intellectual property, it'll stop being used that way.

I use it most for twisting recipe ideas for brines or lately I've been on a bit of a tandor kick. Chicken legs marinaded days in a spicy yogurt sauce with lemon and apple cider vinegar get a new kick and take a lot less time on the grill. Which I like because it is still cold and rainy almost snowy here for the time being.
I also use it when I need to google something. The stuff you find when you google is full of adds and is limited by your search history. GPT responses are ad free and if pigeon holed based on your habits it tells you and allows for expanded search.
I also use it when shopping for something. Like recently someone was getting a new stove. I advised the slide-in so multiple large pans will fit at the same time. She wanted an electric oven and gas cooktop. Those were hard to come by when I replaced mine. With CGPT we were able to find multiple choices. Difficult to find it in stock where delivery was free, but she got what she wanted. CGPT wasn't around when I was looking. I haven't tried car shopping with it yet. You may need to pay the 20$ version for it to be helpful with that. Shopping used cars will take a lot of processor or even require a GPT not available in the free version.
Oh. And when I was thinking about learning Python I found it very useful at checking my work. Which more ended up doing the work and made it hard to memorize the command structure at first. I liked it when my system crashed too. I had access to the disk. The robocopy commands and reactivation tips were priceless. Saved mass amounts of time and I recovered legacy apps and tools I figured were lost forever.
