We don't know how lucky we are

My wife once worked in a florist shop. A guy that appeared to be in his twenties came in and told her "I need something really nice for my wife, I'm in big trouble".

As she was showing him the various options, she asked him why he was in big trouble.

He said "I called her the c-word"

My wife closed the door to the cooler and said "I'm sorry, we don't sell anything that can make up for that"
Thanks for giving my hubby and me a laugh, Scaly! :D

Yeah I agree that's probably the reason why. I think though that women are more sensitive to that than men, I mean we don't object to Dick do we? Funny though I occasionally find myself getting pissed and calling something or someone a cocksucker. Everytime I do I can see it in my wife's face, she gives me that look like "and you expect me to give you a blowjob now?"

Definitely makes me think twice.

Funny you should mention that...took me years to get over that exact thing as the guys in high school and college would call each other cocksucker as an insult. So, yeah, then you expect me to suck your cock?

I use it sparingly in my stories, mainly because I run out of other names. Plus, there is something about that word that just fits in certain scenarios where pussy would break the tone. I agonize about it everytime I decide to use it though, not wanting someone to be offended, which would defeat the purpose of the story in the first place.

As long as you're talking about her luscious cunt or slippery cunt or slick cunt, even those who might be offended would at least know you weren't intending it to be offensive.

I'm confused: is there any other kind?

I've only ever used the c-word once about a specific person. It was very deserved at the time.

And I've used it in my writing. But I am still uncomfortable saying it, mostly because it has such a vulgar connotation in most circumstances.

I'm interested

We've established that 'cunt' is a word that some people find offensive. What about other words? I also don't like the word 'slut'

I'm a little confused about this really. I have to admit being called a dirty little whore/slut in an appropriate situation could be pretty hot but I don't know if I wanna go there, you know? :D

Thoughts?

And as an aside, going back to my original post(s)

I frequent another board and I recently posted my humble opinion on blow jobs for an enquiring woman. She was asking about how to give a good BJ, and had only given her SO hand jobs previously. My ten cents worth went something along the lines of using your whole body when giving oral, not just being fixated on the mouth or hands.
I got a PM this morning from a guy telling me that my description was HOTT (yep he couldn't spell!) and asking me if I gave footjobs too!

DH was the one checking the site and my PM's at the time. "Come look at this!" he said to me. My response "Wouldn't he like to know!"

I love it when my jokes make DH laugh. He's the funny one in this relationship.

That brings to mind another question. How sexually adventurous were you before finding Lit? Do you think that the average person lacks common sense and logic in the sexual arena? I am constantly gobsmacked about the questions that people ask that seem so logical to me. Like "what do you do when you're on top ladies?"

I've always just chased the sensations I guess. I figure that if I'm in any given position and its not working for me, I adjust my position until it does. When I'm giving head I've always paid attention to the responses that I get, and over the years I've just adjusted my technique according to that.

I dunno, am I just weird?

I recently had an brief affair with another forum, one that had a Sex and Dating board, and I was shocked at how ignorant and judgmental some of the people were when it came to sex. I'd see shit like, "A real woman doesn't need extra stimulation to cum during sex," and people would agree with the person who said it! I'd think, "Are you for fucking real?" Though, given the rules of that board, I guess I was thinking, "Are you for f**king real?" ;)

My brief foray onto another board made me appreciate that Lit doesn't have that many rules; the few rules that are in place at Lit are, IMO, reasonable. I didn't post on the other board very much, but when I did I had to watch my language. I never really saw a rule prohibiting profanity, but it seemed to be frowned upon. Here are some other rules:

--No starting a thread that only one sex can respond to (eg. "A question for the ladies").
--No consecutive posts in a thread.
--No hijacking.
--Two people can't have a conversation within a thread.
--No starting redundant threads. Could that be done on Lit? OTOH, it was nice to see a cock size thread get locked. :p

For me, it was a combination of finding a partner who was more experienced and open-minded than I was and discovering Lit (in 2001!). Five years ago, I'd had only one partner, my ex-husband, and our sex life was really pretty bland and even painful at times. (That is, when it was happening at all--partially my fault.) It's been a helluva ride! :D

I guess what I find dismaying at times is how often people seem to get their info about sex from porn.

No, I actually think you're just normal, but then that's probably because we share the same attitude.

The one I visit now and again isn't quite so bad. They've split the boards into R18 sections but they still censor some naughty words. I made an aussie friend there and we were joking around one day that I should start an "ask auntie kiwichyck" thread. I did it for a laugh. Seems the mods couldn't handle my humour, took them about 10 minutes to flame me about it. Mostly I just get tired of the whole thing because it's like a bunch of 12 year olds asking the most inane questions repeatedly. And there's really no opportunity for a friendly chat.

Interesting. I guess it does depend a lot on your partners. I'd only been with one guy briefly before my DH. During our relationship we've always used a lot of variation with positions, but in hindsight mostly it was him making the position changes. Although once I cottoned on, I was never scared to change if I wanted to.

Even our recent forays into new things recently was because of him. Our sex life was predicatable, but I didn't see a problem with it until he pointed it out. Now I can't figure out how I was satisfied with things how they were then!

It's pretty fair to say he was a bit of a slut before we got together ;) but from what I can gather, he learnt a lot of his creativity from one particular gf when he was still in high school.

The beauty of lit for me, is that it switched on the sexual thought process again. I'd slipped into this rut where I just didn't devote any time to thinking about sex. And of course the biggest sex organ is the brain. I wondered why my libido was so low (duh!)
