What Are You Listening To Now v8.0

Some racist tool calling me "knee grow" on a politcal forum. And on my first day! ❤️

Simon and Garfunkel's "Bridge Over Troubled Water" album, because "The Boxer" came up in my head, I incorporated it into something I'm writing and wondered if I might be able to play it (I can if I capo one):

The album finished, and Apple Music cued another 1970 album that I'm not nearly as familiar with: Rodriguez - Cold Fact, which I learned of a few years ago but haven't listened to nearly as much:

These are both really good records.

Edit: Then Apple Music plays another 1970 album: CCR's Cosmo's Factory, which is my favorite of theirs. Cans went on instantly, volume turned up all the way. Bliss. This is the first thing I put on whenever I start a road trip:

I'm gonna listen through the record to see what GD Apple Music is gonna suggest next, because right now, they are firing on all cylinders.

Fucking algorithms.

You know, the kind I write. Eff.

But if they're going to do 1970, I can, too. Not algorithm, just holy catfish, put the cans on, turn up the volume, and wish you could turn it up more:
Warning: that's a 10+ minute track. Commit or don't. Doesn't matter to me. But eff, it's a story, and it's good.

Covers of "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground"

Mostly because Willie Nelson has written that's it's one of the songs he's happiest to have covered, but also because my Dad loves Willie's version so I transcribed it for us. It has a couple unusual chords (including a D#dim), that I need to remind myself of the fingering, but because I'd like to play and sing it (with him) at the club tonight, listening to all these damn covers, some of which are frankly awesome, is just gig prep. Here's one by a guy singing a tribute to a friend who used to sing it. Unfortunately, Raul Malo also recently passed, so this is kind of a tribute to a tribute:

CHVRCHES - Asking for a Friend is currently on repeat in my head. But the live performance is good too.

Posted this in 7.0 and then realised that there's a new thread - moving it here...

I listened obsessively to a lot of music from contemporary choral to prog rock for my Nude Day story, which is music focused. For an extended bedroom scene (where some Pink Floyd also makes an appearance over the protests of my beta readers / intimacy advisors), I went with "Forth of Firth" by Genesis amongst others, primarily for the bass drop / eargasm during the guitar solo after the 6:45 mark, repeated 50 seconds later. I love this drum cover of it by Sina as well. Original drums by Phil Collins. Keyboards and main composer Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel on flute / vocals, Steve Hackett as guitar god, and Mike Rutherford on bass / bass pedals (the eargasm bit) and guitar.

what story is this? I need to check it out

Right now, tinnitus and my own breathing😄

All jokes aside, I had the soundtrack for the original Blues Brothers movie playing at the gym and then had an old Johnny Cash compilation disc playing on the way to work and from there to the gym, with was done on my way home from there and finished with a few of Brian Setzer’s big band songs.

A Swedish bi and her geek band:

My favorite is the one when Jesper (keyboardist) gets green light at 2:45 of "Hurt You" and the final track (about 2:20 in).

It didn't start out as Maja's band, but ... charisma. And honestly, the whole album is out ... STAND ... ing.

I will check it out.

After viewing: Oh, dear. Back to Swedish for me. Next week might be different, but this is where I am now.
