*sides with the kitty*I mean…it’s not Taco Bell was born in So Cal. Their style of tacos (single hard/fried corn tortilla shell, ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, hot sauce or salsa) is recognized as a taco dorado, gringo taco or “white people taco.” Mexican street tacos generally include 1-2 soft corn tortillas, some kind of meat chopped and grilled or carved off a trompo(vertical spit), onions, cilantro and a squeeze of lime. There are several reasonably authentic toppings that can be added to either, like the aforementioned lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, lime, shredded cheese, hot sauce, salsa…and/or guac, crema/sour cream, cotija cheese, jalapeños, etc. Once you get into adding weird stuff that doesn’t belong in a taco though, like @vagrantx‘s mushrooms, you have to use that ingredient as a modifier and call it a “mushroom taco.” But in the case of your meme, that’s not even a tomato-cucumber-French fry taco, it’s a wrap You can’t just call anything a taco!
