woo hoo Erika! what's the count down at now?
10-13 days, we think. At least it's days, rather than weeks, now! :nana:

I'm so excited for you, Mazuri! Our absence is nothing compared to yours; that kind of puts things in perspective, and I'll do better at counting my blessings from now on. :)

We see the good in the absence though it's killing us. :) We've not talked this much, this often, about so much that's meant a lot to us both in ages, if ever. We will definitely come out the stronger for the absence and more secure in each other and our marriage. So, while it's hard...it's good at the same time *grins* and when he gets here, the same will be true ;)

(edited to add) Also, just because our separation is longer doesn't invalidate the pain of being separated for anyone else :) It sucks, pure and simple, whether for a day or a month or a year and hurts just as much. However, I feel much the same as you about my situation when compared to those whose spouses are in the desert. At least Korea is mostly safe. :)

Knowing that, although I ache for him, I made the right decision to let go.

My son the "what do I need reading for" one, has just finished a novel on his own volition. :nana:

The random, early-morning phone calls... That usually start with, "Morning babe," and end with him talking endlessly about his beloved motorcycle.

I love how much he loves that bike. :)

He's HOME!! :nana: :nana: :nana: :nana:

Now to just figure out a way to keep him from going back in two weeks :D ;)

I'm happy for you!!! Enjoy your time together :)

There is a certain satisfaction after a long day of yardwork. Then, to sit back and admire your hard work, sipping iced tea.

Attending a retirement party last week and a farewell luncheon today for two judges that I admire and respect with all of my heart. They have brilliant legal minds balanced with equal doses of compassion, not to mention complete lack of ego. Beyond their legal reputations, they are two of the finest, down-to-earth men that I know.

Thank you Judge ABC & Judge XYZ for allowing me to work and grow under your tutelage. It's been a dream.

30 minutes into our phone call he told me, "You really need to get a doorbell."

Me, "Huh?"

I hear some knocking sound on the phone; he repeated his previous statement.

Lightbulb moment. I run to the door and my beautiful man is standing there with a smile on his face as he closes his cell phone.

I really need to get a doorbell.

The first part of this story is that last week, he knocked on my door @ 7:30 a.m. and it took a long while for me wake from my slumber and even longer to realize someone was knocking at my door. I creeped up to the door wondering who the hell would be there at that hour, peered through the peep hole to see this beautiful man waiting, and when I opened the door he said "I came to make your morning coffee."

Gestures like these make me love him more each day.
