what happened to women looking for a gentleman?

Why don't we call it off??

I am really sad to see such a good posting become a mess... Why don't we try to become a "polite" group and call it off.? It would be better if we try to avoid any unnecessary arguments rather than create a new one.

I love the simple everyday courtesies that men and women carry out in order to help each other.

However, what I really, really hate is when those acts are not really courtesies, but phony arrogance. I once worked for a fellow who insisted on opening doors (even though he once nearly broke my ankle doing so!). He wasn't doing the courteous thing for me, he was stroking his own pitiful little ego.

Of course, this self-absorbed jerk was always too busy to help me carry a 16mm film projecter, 3 monster film-reels, and a large assortment of printed material to my car nearly a block away.

Maybe some of you recall the "old days" in the so-called golden '50s when nurses were expected to stand whenever a doc entered the room? I wasn't a nurse and refused to stand, which royally pissed off this particular arrogant pseudo-God. On one occasion, we arrived at a door simultaneously--he expected me to open it for him, and in those days, I still expected the "man" to open doors for me. Standoff. We might still be there if a terrific doctor hadn't walked up, muttered "Oh, for goodness sake!" and opened the door. I proudly (smugly) marched through, feeling a hot glare on my back every step. Funny to recall now, not so funny then. I had my dignity, but soon lost my job. LOL

Yes most gentlemen don't act like a child you need to learn to take critism.

Somrtimes it is most effective to give them a mild spanking and send them to bed without their supper!
