What Made You Smile/Laugh Today?

That was priceless :D Haven't laughed so hard in ages.

Alan joined us at the table for dinner (he looks like he's short of a good meal) and a debate ensued as to what he should do this evening. We considered seating him in one of the cars and parking it on the road or posing him in the window facing the drive giving a cheery wave to passers by. But as he seems comfortable watching TV in the den wearing a hat and glasses, we'll probably leave him there for the time being...

This. It is completely awesome. :)

Bought a six foot skeleton with poseable joints for daughter this morning, and she has named him Alan. The kids are currently arranging Alan into a suitably relaxed pose in the armchair facing the door that husband will walk through when he returns from work. Husband is unaware of the introduction of Alan into the family unit, and there are 3 of us (4 if we include Alan) who cannot wait to see his face when he arrives home...

I can't imagine how many kids wish you were their mom...

We’re all a little weird. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness—and call it love—true love.”

You make my heart smile Sir xx

AMEN ! Can I get a hallelujah?

This just gave me a good little laugh.

Run, butterfly....run!!

I swear, S. is the only person who I've ever seen brake for butterflies...
:D

On family car journeys, we take turns to choose a music track to listen to.

Late last night, we were travelling home in the dark along the Snake Pass which is a winding, slightly scary, unlit road across the Pennine hills. We don't normally use this route for the journey and the kids were showing some signs of anxiety as we dipped, twisted and turned.

Husband pointed out that, under the circumstances, my music choice of "Crash and Burn" by Savage Garden was not the ideal way to alleviate their fears.

I had the most amazing mushroom weekend.

Chanterelles, yellowfoots, trumpets of the dead, wood hedgehogs, porcini and sheep polypore.

Mom being ok and cancer free is pretty ok, too.

That is wonderful news, seela!

Saying to my boss that I was having the sort of day where I would end up under the desk with my hands over my head rocking.

Not even an hour later I was doing exactly that. To say the earth moved numerous times today would be somewhat of an understatement.

Oh yes, the shakes! How are you holding up? I've got to say I'm a bit concerned about my grandparents but they've been saying to txt instead of landline calls and the old folks don't have mobiles...

My smiles and laughs today, tinged with sadness: an awesome, fantastic leaving party for me and another Playcentre member at Inflatable World (cool place filled with bouncy obstacle courses etc.)
Was given a huge photobook of our time there. I'm sad to leave but happy to have made such wonderful friends along the way :).

Totally overhyped by the media really, nothing to worry about.

Calling landlines is fine, it was the mobile networks that were overloaded. Hope they are both OK :)
