My kid came home from school at 1am. The other one due this evening.
Happy.

Finally posted a new story here after almost two years on hiatus. It's been tough writing this last year...

At the grocery, my partner tossed me a frozen turkey breast and said, "I'm flipping you the bird!"

This happened.

Regarding the Principality of Sealand, a contested nation state within UK territory with a square land area of 0.004km and population of 27 according to a 2002 census.

"Attack in 1978 and the Sealand Rebel Government

In August 1978, Alexander Achenbach, who describes himself as the Prime Minister of Sealand, hired several German and Dutch mercenaries to spearhead an attack on Sealand while Bates and his wife [Contemporary reigning king and queen of Sealand] were in England. They stormed the platform with speedboats, Jet Skis and helicopters, and took Bates' son Michael hostage. Michael was able to retake Sealand and capture Achenbach and the mercenaries using weapons stashed on the platform. Achenbach, a German lawyer who held a Sealand passport, was charged with treason against Sealand and was held unless he paid DM 75,000 (more than US$35,000 or £23,000). The governments of the Netherlands, Austria and Germany petitioned the British government for his release, but the United Kingdom disavowed his imprisonment, citing the 1968 court decision. Germany then sent a diplomat from its London embassy to Sealand to negotiate for Achenbach's release. Roy Bates relented after several weeks of negotiations and subsequently claimed that the diplomat's visit constituted de facto recognition of Sealand by Germany.
Following the former's repatriation, Achenbach and Gernot Pütz established a government in exile, sometimes known as the Sealand Rebel Government or Sealandic Rebel Government, in Germany. Achenbach's appointed successor, Johannes Seiger, continues to claim via his website that he is Sealand's legitimate ruling authority."

...and meanwhile, Michael Bates lives in England. What's the point of having your own country if you don't live there?

We have a micronation called the Hutt River Province, but so far its history has been a bit more peaceful.

What made me laugh today?

My new dom trying out dominating me via text from work... he was talking me through anal play which is very new to me a slightly uncomfortable... he told me to do something and I said well I'm trying

He said oh no there is no trying only doing

And I said fuck you Yoda!

And he got firmer after that....lol

I'll be punished in person.... but as we also have a relationship outside D/s and later we were chatting and he said "I almost had to stop when you said Fuck you Yoda.... that was hilarious!" I wonder if I would've been so naughty in person.... 😂🤣😂

Coming home from taking care of mom to see the kids decorated the house for me. Including outside lights and the tree.
I’ve been so sad about my dad and trying to play catch up.
This was huge.
Made me cry. In a good way.

I finished my writing challenge today. Two pieces in two languages every month for a year. I didn't think I'd make it until December. I also write a lot better now than I did in January, at least in my first language, which was nice to notice as well.

Now I just need to get cracking with my reading challenge. 1.5 books left, 11 days to go. I should be able to pull it off as well even though it looked unlikely for a while there.

A beautiful sunset.

Okay, it's a little disheartening that the sunset was at 3PM, but at least it was beautiful. And the days are getting longer, too. :)

Merry Christmas to all my fellow Christmas Eve celebrators!

I guess there aren't many of us left here anymore, though.

Been a tough year. Friend from the ambulance company I used to dispatch for brought by two huge bags of toys for my boys for Christmas from their "toys for tots" program. One of the supervisors who remembered me fondly bought one on my eldest's list when he couldn't find a Magic School Bus in the warehouse (hey if my autistic five year old chooses science as his hyper-focus, that's a win in my book.)

I'm so touched and happy I started crying because there wasn't much under the tree and now there will be a lot from Santa (sup's name) and Aunt (former coworker). Because I feel credit should go where its due. I gotta wrap everything but I can honestly set the kids at the tree with abandon as they share everything anyway. Helps restore some of that holiday spirit I thought was snuffed out.

Aww! That's excellent.

Almost Christmas here, so I'm going to go to bed, but thanks to all my friends on this board and hope you have a good one.
