I expressed my frustration to J about having to take an English class, where the bar is so low a toddler could step over it. I mean, last week the teacher gave me a "very good job" for knowing what to affect means.

J's answer: It's probably for the best you're for once forced to use English outside an internet porn board. It's an opportunity for you to see how long you can use English without mentioning blowjobs.

His answer cracked me up for two reasons.

1) It's a really good point! I basically only ever use English when I write here or talk with Lit friends.
2) What the hell does J think I talk about here? My posts are far less riveting than he clearly imagines.

As far as I've seen, your English comprehension is already indistinguishable from a native speaker so what made you decide to get classes on it?

The English classes are compulsory for the degree. I have to take three classes and this is the first, so maybe the next ones will be more interesting and rewarding. I'll just have to power through this one.
