Aww, thanks. I've never heard the idiom and without context can't even begin to guess what it might mean. Here's your chance, explain an idiom to me, please. No, I've admired your use of idiomatic English, that's all.
The idiom in question was "doing a land office business. "
Just yesterday I had to repeat "a wild hair up his ass" for someone (native) who had never heard the phrase. SMH

land-office business
A thriving, expanding, or very profitable concern or volume of trade. For example, After the storm they did a land-office business in snow shovels and rock salt. This term, dating from the 1830s, alludes to the throng of applicants to government land offices through which Western lands were sold. It has been used for other booming business since the mid-1800s.
When I used it, I referred to a drive in burger joint, Sonic, that was packed.
Never heard this one either, but without any context, I'm going to guess it means that something is annoying. Am i close?
This one refers to someone doing something crazy or irrational, but usually harmless. Like buying dozens of bras.
Hey, I still haven't bought a single bra this year!
And thank you! I'll try hard to retain these idioms.
We all have our quirks and weaknesses...mine is hoodies. I understand.
Aww, Lit is such a good place. There's always someone here to make me feel...normal. So back to hoarding bras it is!
Today's smiles:
A walk in the sunny weather
Impulse purchase at the grocery store
Repotting all (three) of my house plants
The prospect of having a day off and an orgasm next week
Finishing the big Sunday crossword very smoothly
Painting nails
ORGASM?????
Holy crap! Alert the media!
How exciting for you. I'm very happy to know this is finally a possibility.
I always thought it was “hare” as in the animal.
I like thongs, as long as I’m not “going for a walk” in earnest.
I prefer boy shorts.
