New episodes of my favorite show. Not getting out of bed till well after noon and the sound of my kid humming happily. Nothing could make a mothers day better than the last.

I told her a bedtime story and she got excited and I set up the ending as a pun, and she laughed, and when someone actually laughs at your pun-ending, well, it's a warm way to end a day.

It's J's birthday and for once he's sleeping late. That means I can prep his birthday breakfast without him being there. There might even be a chance that I can serve it to bed to him. Which is kinda the point of breakfast in bed, but so far he hasn't managed to stick to the concept. Maybe this year!

No breakfast in bed this year, either. He got up about a minute after I posted here, and at that point I was just waiting for the coffee to be done. So close! In the end it was good, because this way we could read the newspaper while eating. God forbid we once a year talked about something other than politics and economy while having a breakfast.
(It's been a theme for us - the first breakfast we had together we talked about the Iranian nuclear program, and that's pretty much the moment I knew I really liked to be around J for reasons other than sex, too.)The breakfast was huge and unhealthy. I'm guessing there's no need for lunch today, especially if we eat the fruit I chopped for us as a "breakfast dessert", but that we didn't manage to eat yet.

My kids excitement over the huge boxes of popcorn I bought at the market. He was cheesing ear to ear. lol It was like Christmas. I will never get tired of seeing that smile and knowing I can bring it to his face in the smallest ways.
