Sticking it to the man!

wow, i didn't know he was into that. ;)
Lots of men like sticking things in people.
Take Vlad the Impaler for instance; :)

Contemporary accounts say that at one point the capital of Wallachia (The kingdom he ruled) was surrounded by a wall of 10,000 impaled enemies of his. He also had an entire Ottoman invasion army impaled and left as a macabre forest in the path of other invading armies.

This is sort of funny but definitely also speaks to a bigger picture, considering that our ruling party seems to be leaning toward a total separation from all aspects of the EU.

Man tries to protest against the EU by burning the flag. Flag can't catch fire due to EU regulations on flammable materials.

I was walking past a mental hospital the other day, and all the patients were out in the yard shouting "13... 13... 13." The fence was too high to see over, but I saw a little gap in the planks, so I looked through to see what was going on... some idiot poked me in the eye with a stick! Then they all started shouting "14... 14... 14."

A certain someone I know got caught sending boob pics to one her boytoys by a co worker. I have not laughed that hard in ages.

so I ordered a big box o' shiny music and books from Germany back in early February. After a month the tracking showed it still in Germany, so the shop folk decided it was lost and sent me a replacement shipment at no extra cost.

The replacement arrived last Friday... and then on Monday, the original shipment arrived as well. I contacted the shop and they decided it wasn't worth the postage for me to send it back, so now I have free stuff to share with my friends. Woot.

(Also, will definitely be ordering from those people again, they've been super nice.)

Is Amtrak really as bad as I've heard?

depends on what you've heard, yeah?

i take amtrak commuter trains almost every day, they're alright.
but long distance trains might be a completely different story

An American I know came to western Europe on holiday a few years back and the first thing they commented on was how the long-distance trains in the region were so much more comfortable and faster than Amtrak.

Although, they painted a picture of it in my head that made Amtrak sound like a late 19th century coal-fired train for the peasants, so I could be biased here.
