What made you smile or laugh today? Part III

I could cry laughing. I love reading the discussions of nerds on subjects like video games. To kill an NPC or not?

A: Well, the lore says this guy would have killed him! Do it!

B: Not every player is a sociopath!

This is a very serious matter. Do I play the character as the original character, do I merely play myself in a different world, do I play a character how I imagine him or her or do I play by game mechanics (pick whatever gives the best result)?

:) It's important. I was just wanting game mechanics to pick what would be most beneficial, but then there was the dilemma of whether or not it was really necessary when it turned out either route offered very little in benefits. But I couldn't help but laugh when someone dragged in the lore and started talking about what a fictional character from the past would have done. Then there's also factions to consider outside of the ones affiliated directly with the decision. In the end I'm still indecisive. Part of me says to just kill the NPC because this is the third or fourth time playing and I've never killed them so this time I should mix it up.

There's a game called This War of Mine where you play as a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged modern-day Eastern European city. Once you've scavenged all you can from the safe areas around your residence you can trade and/or steal from people and other places, even going so far as to kill people for weapons and resources that you need to survive the food and material shortages due to the siege.

The caveat is that the characters have a complex and varied emotional intelligence so gratuitously killing people for their possessions, while providing short and long term benefits, risks the character developing PTSD or depression if they're not naturally inclined to be OK with it. Same with stealing, some characters feel especially guilty if they steal from hospitals. I've had characters get so depressed that they leave the shelter for good, stumbling out into the war-torn city with a death wish. :p

Getting to do silly fun and chatty things at work and it all being legitimate :D

And the gorgeous sunshine and being able to go for a good long walk in it :)

A little bit of relief. Little cat is breathing ok now and hasn't had a coughing fit that I know of. I've been keeping watch to make sure she doesn't get worse. :) So far so good and she seems much better today. Playing and curious.

“Yet once you've come to be part of this particular patch, you'll never love another. Like loving a woman with a broken nose, you may well find lovelier lovelies. But never a lovely so real.” ~Nelson Algren

Spending days with a litster I knew I loved , and it being as wonderful as I knew she would be. I really wanted to get to The part of the country Where collar and cuffs lives, another woman I think of as a deep connection that doesn't need feeding; it just is. It was just too much this trip and she is busy too, we struggled to make it make sense. ❤️

Meeting litsters is something to smile about. Where is C-n-C these days?

What made me smile?

A gift from a far away friend.

:rose:

The election results were a lot better than I had feared.

The racists went down a lot from the previous elections. That's good.

What made me squeal with laughter was playing with a high tech Japanese toilet :D

It had a front wash , a back wash  , an oscillating feature!!!, and a dryer.

Oh, and the toilet seat warms up!
