If someone invents dressy, grown up opera clothes that feel like PJs, they’ll get so rich so fast.
I decided to wear a black dress with puffy sleeves, so that’s one problem sorted.
As to wearing weather appropriate clothes… I’m still not very good at doing that myself, so I have sympathy for your kids. At least they have the bonfires to keep them warm. Much like our midsummer bonfires - warmth is their biggest appeal to me. It’s almost always cold on May Day and Midsummer’s Eve.
We decided to skip the traditional May Day picnic brunch, because it’s just not warm enough for me. I’m previous years I’ve been to that park freezing my ass of in all sorts of weathers, in the name of tradition. But now I decided I’d rather have the brunch home, not freeze, sit by the table. This feels very grown up. Although there are lots of families and groups of friends with grandparent aged people taking part in the picnic tradition, so I guess I’m just lazy, in a way.
I might go for a walk in the park though to take in the atmosphere, or maybe I’ll just follow it online. Lazy.
Perfect!
There should be more of those yes.
I still miss a dress I had, long, sleeveless with a rather modest v-neck and a high but not quite scandalous side slit in a heavy, stretchy burgundy velvet.
It felt like going to the ball in a nightgown without anyone ever noticing that it was a nightgown.
We will have to drive one of the kids and her friend because they are going to be on a farm a couple of hours away. We’ll make the trip home a bit of a roadtrip and watch various bonfires from a warm car. Still getting better from the mancold.
