Count me in for a hedgehog quest. They’re cute and their numbers have been waning, according to my expert research, which involves watching old British gardening shows.

I respect armadillos and possums because they have persevered. Maybe they’ll assume control of the planet and renovate once we all leave for Saturnia, Amazon‘s new subscription moonworld.

I can tell you for a fact that armadillos emerged after a deeply disturbing, drug-and-lube-fueled weekend. Do not — ever — loan your beach house to a horseshoe crab, a wharf rat and a Roomba who swear they “bought you beer a bunch of times freshman year.”

Actually, while it’s hard to be enchanted by possums (at least the adults) I do have an affection for them, especially when they bare their tiny daggers at you and hiss in the moonlight. Cutie.

Best hedgehog watching ever:
Sitting quietly in the garden while it gets dark, the cat hanging out with us on the steps up to the backdoor.
The hedgehog living under the stairs, comes out sniffing around for a while, the cat watching and looking dangerous because it’s her stairs.
The hedgehog climbs the steps and starts sniffing at the cat, who looks confuesed and embarassed, not knowing what to do.
We tried to be quiet and politely pretend not to have seen it.

I saw pictures from Australia with something that looked like a dusting if snow, but turned out to be spider web with egg sacks.
I will find information about seasons and locations for that, before I ever travel there.

I don’t think they look ugly from the pictures I’ve seen, but then I think rats can be cute too.

So I fell and needed a check up at the hospital.
Waiting in a wheel chair at the exit for Mr Althea to pick me up and take me home, I saw a cab pull up. The driver gestured to open the door and let him in, but I couldn’t reach the door opener, so I swung my handbag at it.
The driver was a total flirt and thought I was the one he came to pick up. When I told him I wasn’t, he said: ”Aww, but I want to pick you up! You’re pretty and all dressed up and clever too if the door opener is anything to go by. ”
I just laughed and shook my head at him, but in all honesty - Goofy flirting FTW when you’re in pain and runny make up makes you look raccoonish and party dress cleavage makes you look all out of place.
