What Made You Smile Today, v6

Sleep. I have been ill as of late and due to life, not able to get much. I was able to sleep my day away today. I needed it. Still have a nasty cough but at least my eyes stopped watering. I will take the win!

Waking among the sandbars and swimming in the shallows when the tides goes out....

Watching a very beautiful, fit woman, do yoga In scenery that is almost as stunning as she is.

Real life...
Real people. 27B506E1-B1E9-4AB1-9A58-0E5B756F8EDD.jpeg

Today, I got up early early and watched the sun rise with my coffee. I wondered how much the world can change in the space of a minute, an hour, a day, a week, a year.

Yea, weird shit in the morning, that's me. I finished up and went out to the car. Only it wasn't my car. I had traded cars with my son for the Summer. He moved across town for a new internship job and my car is better for the amount of driving he is going to be doing. His car, is really just great for early Sunday mornings in the Summer.

Convertible Camaro SS. All black. Great tech, loud as fuck. Six speed standard shift. Really a fun car. I pulled out of the driveway, drove through town towards a freeway I knew was likely free of cars. Finding the onramp, I opened it up and was soon flying 90mph down the freeway and over the lake with the wind in my hair.

I would love to have been with just about anyone then. I drifted in and out of thought for the ride I was doing and how it was exactly a year ago when my best friend had died from a fall off a tall ladder. How I wished he was here.

Nothing for it though. Seemed so empty. Useless. Sad. Fuck. I pulled over to this park by the lake near Gloria's where we had taken our wives out to dinner and dancing three Summers ago. Powered down. And just watched the boats leaving the piers and motoring out somewhere else on the lake. Great morning for it. Sun, sky, the water.

Sitting there, outside the car, smoking one of those little Al Capone cigars listening to the radio, chilling. This one boat, the fourth one I'd seen, had this couple in it. He was driving and she was animatedly speaking with him. I had no idea what they were saying. She suddenly turns towards me and lifts her shirt and flashes some very pretty breasts for 3 or 4 seconds and laughs before they move out of sight. I raised my cigar in salute with a smile. I just fucking love the unexpected. And unexpected breasts on Summer Sunday morning is even better. I'm easily amused.
