Despite the cloudy weather and chance of rain, one of my girls has decided to go on a picnic! She's bought baguettes, salami, and pico de Gallo(?!?), and is busy making preparations as she listens to French music. She's borrowing my vintage picnic basket and a quilt, but has asked that she be allowed to pick the quilt herself because she wants it to be 'aesthetic.'

Watching her create her own happiness is one of those perfect moments of joy that you just can't manufacture.
