Don't know exactly how to be PC with this but I'll give it a shot.

Was in line at the gas station and a physically and "cognitively challenged" older man was in line as well. He had another man with him who was his caregiver, I assume. The disabled man spoke very slow and exact in wishing me a good morning and asking how I was. I did not hesitate to engage in conversation with him, which included the fact that we were both buying scratch- off tickets.

This man had a constant smile on his face and was so full of life and spirit that it seemed to ooze out of him. I got a little misty-eyed, I'm not afraid to admit.
It's meeting people like him that re-affirms my faith in the human spirit and makes me think twice before bitching about gas prices or other menial things.
