I am sneakily searching for a new job, and I think I may have one.

But today the wife-boss told me that she & hubby-boss may be separating. Not that I'm suprised, but I still need this job for now....

sigh...

*fingers crossed*

I'm on a medication that has the (rare) side effect of making my gag reflex extremely sensitive. As in, I nearly make myself sick every morning, just brushing my teeth. Well, I'm trying to write some blogs for a client on a topic that's mildly icky, and I'm dry-heaving so much that I'm not sure I can finish. FML.

You can do it, Bunny!

How's that for motivation?
:D:rose:

Two preteen girls screaming obscenities and inappropriate stuff at each other in the pool's changerooms... gawd.
What is WRONG with kids these days?

Kids repeat what they see and hear at home and in public places, and in movies and TV shows. They don't have much of a chance to learn from observation how they should act.

They could use a little butt warming correction?

You're too eager ;) , and they were too young. You'll have to wait 6 years or more for them ("pre-teen").
Quite right. Although I dearly wanted to tell them to shut the F up. I gave them my best steely glare as they passed though.

Come on , people!
Four freakin' phone books?

FOUR?

Whatever happened to saving the trees......

To be fair, they didn't outright say that they wouldn't accept the money...just not as part of a National Relay Team member. It's still bollocks, but it's better bollocks?
This charity is asking for donations so they can find a cure to cancer, right? I'd say take anybody's money, if it's being offered. It sounds to me more like they were trying to make a statement, but that's at the expense of future donations, not to mention those afflicted.

I'm sorry, but they need to take all that's offered. It all spends the same, doesn't it? They're saying they'll only take certain donations that don't have added baggage, but it seems more of a case of administration trying to keep their cushy jobs. Stop the grand standing. People are dying. Take the damn money.

Kidnapped bulldog found dead in Kelso

An English bulldog from Woodland that reportedly was held for ransom, attracting international attention, has been found dead on the railroad tracks near Kelso.

The Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office said a resident of Kelso called Monday and reported seeing a dead dog along the tracks Sunday night in the 2400 block of Talley Way. Based on the dog's markings, deputies confirmed it was the missing dog, Jagger, who had been struck by a train.

"He didn't deserve that at all," his owner, Jennifer Thomas of Woodland, said Monday. "I don't know who would do that. He was the sweetest boy. He'd never hurt anybody. I didn't even love animals before I got him — that tells you how special he was."

She asked animal control officer Mike Nicholson to make an impression of Jagger's pawprint for her.

I like dogs, too. I like all animals. There are some sick people in the world.

Good freakin' lord. I hope Texas is as firm about punishing child abuse as it is about enforcing the death penalty.
It's all over the Internet. I read some of the comments in one link where someone sent links to the video to just about everybody in Texas government...even the Governor. Shit, someone in Australia even sent it to officials there.

The Arkansas county web site for the father's court has a notice on the page that the police are investigating. His picture is posted there. And Fox News has an article on it with that same picture attached. It's getting some good press coverage, at least. I like that his picture is attached.

I guess she's 18 now, and living out of the house. I just hope she's in a safe place. Her father doesn't seem that good with controlling his anger. And did I get it right that the girl has Cerebral Palsy...and he still beat her like that?

I just renewed my car tags online. Everything was going well until the very last screen, when I was to wait for the transaction to complete. It came back with an error. I exited the process and tried it again. This time, it said "your pin has already been used in a renewal process for this year. Call xxx-xxx-xxxx to have your pin reset."

Well, I'm one of he two or three people who don't have a cell phone, and the number is long distance. But, I had to get my pin reset...
I called and got that scary message, "all operators are busy helping other customers at the present time. Your call is important to us and will be answered in the order it was received. Thank you for your patience."

I don't know how long I waited, but it wasn't more than a couple of minutes. But, when the operator said my pin was reset, I thought I'd ask if Firefox browser was compatible with the process. She said it wasn't. "Firefox will return and error." (DUH, that's why I'm calling!).

"So, I have to use Internet Explorer?"

"Yes."

Now, I don't mind using Internet Explorer for this transaction, if it keeps me from spending my afternoon standing in line at the county courthouse. And the county is quick to let me know, if any information I put in a field is incorrect (improper format or required field not filled in), the least they can do is print a notice somewhere that the process won't work with any browser except Internet Explorer. It would have saved me some stress, saved me some time and even saved me some cash for an unnecessary long distance phone call. Ma Bell doesn't need the money as much as I do.

Shit...why should I expect anything to be easy, when dealing with the government, even the local guys?

Thats how they keep so many people employed, but making everything as difficult as possible for people who HAVE to deal with them which means you have to call them or submit the same form 20 times because they lose them. Keeps them employed and justifys the expense because they are SOOOOO incredibly busy.

Sounds like Government departments are the same all over the world.

I made the mistake of mentioning to a classmate that i have a crush on an individual in our class. And now she's on me to tell her. If I tell her to back off, she will, but now this just makes my life SUPER awkward.
