A friend from work died today. She was 29. Breast cancer found her 4 yrs ago and ravished her body. She just wanted to get to her 30th birthday. She was 2 weeks away.

She was one of the most positive people i have ever met.

Sad day

I would surely imagine everybody subscribed to this thread has experienced a friend or loved one taken too soon by this insidious disease. While a life cut short for no good reason might not be that uncommon, it doesn't make it any easier, when it happens again.

She sounds like a great person. Don't dwell on her early death. Celebrate why she was your friend with others she touched with her life. And if it were me, I'd also celebrate her birthday.

My girlfriend and I were moving a wardrobe today and she opened a door to get a better grip on an interior shelf. I didn't see her do this or I would have warned her since this was a terrible idea. We lifted the piece of heavy furniture and no sooner moved it two feet before the door closed on her hand and hurt her terribly. She is still feeling pain two hours later.

I'm sorry for you, her family and the rest of her friends, and all whose lives she might have touched had this not happened to her. I think DVS's advice to "Celebrate why she was your friend with others she touched with her life. And if it were me, I'd also celebrate her birthday" is very appropriate and would honor her in a wonderful way.

I umm stole my friends 13 year old daughter. She was been a little brat so she moved in with me for a month. She hated it.

She would be dropped off and picked up from school every day in my most embarressing car, covered in primer and clouds of smoke out the exhaust. I also got the school to call me if she did not manage to make it into any classes. I would text bombard her friends if she did not turn up. She was so embarressed it took two days before she realised that I was alot more stubborn that she was.

She also had to go to school in a dirty uniform for a couple of days because she could not figure out where the washing machine was.

Shes alot better now as her mum took over from where I left off.

when are you coming to get her
her name is helen she is house broken
I can't tell you how grateful I am

The atrocities perpetuated and excused by the Penn State athletic department, when children were being raped and abused, over and over, by an assistant coach.

For over a decade.

These people should be strung up by their nuts, and the football program shut down.

Damn rain. Actually, not the rain itself, but the lack of the people in weather to properly forecast it's arrival. I'm trying to work on the outside of my house and get it done before winter. I try to schedule the days I work on it with how the weather is going to be. Because I work nights, I try to schedule my sleep time around working on the house.

This last rain came even though weather forecasters said it wasn't coming. Then, it was forecast to start on Tuesday, then changed to Monday evening, then it showed up on Monday afternoon, right in the middle of my work. I had to rush to cover up the work that couldn't get wet.

I know it's difficult to forecast weather in the mid-west. We get weather from the west, the south and even the north. (by the way Canada, thank you for the cold weather, each winter). But if forecasts turn out wrong, just once I'd like these weather people admit they fucked up or even say they are sorry if their incorrect forecast caused someone to change their day. But they are fucking comedians. All they need is fuzzy orange hair and a red nose. I'm sure they already have the lapel flower that squirts water.

I'm almost done, but I need just a couple more days of dry weather with temps above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. But, mostly, I need a forecast I can trust to base my work plans on.
