Not pissed so much as annoyed...was about to launch into a huge washing day of towels, sheets etc., and the dryer died. Fortunately I discovered it had died before I began washing so am now checking out new ones. I so miss having an outside line like I was used to in Australia!!

Edited to add something which really has p'ed me off...we ordered computer parts mid last week which we were told would be delivered the next day. Haven't arrived, and online status was showing the hold up was 1 item so emailed to check if they knew when it would be in. Answer was some of the order will arrive tomorrow, some on the 27th and the rest they have no idea when they will be in. So much for their reassurances everything was in stock and would be delivered inside 24 hours max!!! Am thinking F will be cancelling the order when he gets the email I forwarded him.

The fact that good help is so hard to find.

I understand that what I'm "hiring" you for doesn't pay much, but:

1.) I can't pay you more than I get paid for it, which isn't a whole hell of a lot, either.

2.) It involves you sitting on your ass at home, writing 200-250 word blog posts while eating Chee-Tos and playing video games, so it's not like this is extremely strenuous or time-consuming.

3.) In the case of one of the people who keeps flaking out on me, he has no job at all. It's not like my trifling work is getting in the way of him making actual money. And, you know, in my opinion, a little money is better than no money at all, but then, I'm not a lazy bastard who sees nothing wrong with being nearly 30 years old, unemployed, and living at home with my parents.

If soreness/stiffness after sleeping, not related to illness or over-exertion, is a common occurrence, your mattress may be too soft. If it continues, try inserting a sheet of plywood (at least 3/8" thick) between your mattress and box spring. It's a simple means of firming up a mattress that doesn't involve buying a whole new bed set, and also gives you the opportunity to decide if a firmer bed set is what you need.
