What pissed you off today?

I got stung by a wasp (or a yellow jacket, not sure which) today while I was helping my family with some stuff. Under my arm, too! The fucker had to fly up the sleeve of my shirt to get up there and sting me. God knows how it did it. But it really, really hurt.

Oh look a spot close to the entrance! Fucking rude SOB decides to park on the line. Now I can't get in. SOB

I'm not opposed to, nor particularly in favor of, unions; I've been a union member on more than one occasion. Sometimes, however, I wonder if some unions' leadership personnel have completely lost their minds.

Amid Sandy’s devastation, Long Island union sent written demand to Florida utilities: Pay dues or stay home

In a two-page Oct. 29 contract, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) local 1049 demanded union dues, pay hikes and benefit contributions from Florida electric utilities before its workers would be permitted to help reconnect power to Long Island communities. The demand came as Hurricane Sandy was bearing down on the Northeastern United States, stranding tens of millions without electricity.

The “Letter of Assent,” which The Daily Caller obtained from the Florida Municipal Electric Association, demanded 11 separate financial commitments from municipal power companies and electrical cooperatives in the Sunshine State. The agreement, for any utility that decided to sign it, would have been in force from Oct. 29 to Nov. 29.

There is a LOT more in the original article, linked through the headline above.

I do not like my ex-husband.

ME: ___ is having issues; I think she should see the school counselor.
X: Hmm... I'd rather she see my therapist.
ME: Ok; let me know what you need.

Weeks pass...

X: I talked to my therapist, and we agreed the issues are between the two of you (myself & said child). There's no point in putting her in therapy right now. BTW, if the state screws up the first month of withholding, can you just go ahead and pay me?
Me: These are the issues I'm seeing that I feel extend beyond my relationship with her. (1/2 dozen examples) BTW, I'm sorry, the issues of withholding is out of my hands *because you decided to do everything through the state.*

___: I was late calling you tonight, because I had to talk to Dad & Stepmom about the email you sent.
ME: Yeah?
___: Dad says you only told him those things to hurt his feelings...

What pissed me off, today? Actually, this has pissed me off for quite some time, now. People who jump to conclusions about someone they don't know and not so politely intimidate friends and associates with accusations about these people, in an effort to get them to agree.

It even extends to out right lies, even calling the person stupid or brainless. None of these two people have a personal relationship what so ever with the person they seem to hate, just hearsay from more people who also don't have a personal relationship with the person.

Hate is just hate. If you try to defame someone you don't know, it's just hate that's spewing inside of you, and nothing more. I hope you feel better, because people like you just make me ill.

Maybe you should think about closed wrists on your clothing when doing some things? I know...don't you just hate people like me? Hind sight is 20/20.

He (or she) just happened to fly up your sleeve, looking for a way to get away from whatever you were doing. Once he got up there and found no way out, maybe you pressed against him with your arm or something, which would cause him to sting in defense. Still, not a good feeling, especially under your arm. Such a sensitive area.

How did you get him or her out of your sleeve? Long sleeve or short?

It was short-sleeved, and it was a nice shirt, not a t-shirt, so the sleeves weren't all big and baggy. By the time I realized what had happened and reached back there to get rid of it, it was gone. So it literally just flew up there, stung me, and then flew away.

Okay, you did something to piss it (or its sister, brother, dad or mom) off, and it got even. Either chase the fucker down and smash it into incoherent bits or pull out the 12-gauge and blow it away. Maybe its friends and relatives will get the point that you're not to be fucked with. ;)

I'm not pissed off about anything today. I just want to add this post in hopes that it will cause a page break.

It's funny you mention Batman comics, actually; my free recovery night last night provided a perfect opportunity to finish up Arkham City! :D

Anyway, the cold pills are working, so I'm still functioning. Thanks for the niceness! :)

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your friend, and his family's (and other friends') loss as well. Friends (whether related or - to steal and paraphrase Gracie's phrase - friends of the heart) are too few and far between for the loss of one not to hurt. :rose:

I had to think about it a bit to decide if this belonged here or in the Politics thread, but decided that it's not politics; it's just stupidity and hatred, and pisses me off.

'Maybe he will get assassinated this term!' Racist Woman, 22, fired and reported to Secret Service after vile Facebook threat to 'n*****' Obama

A racist 22-year-old woman has been fired from her job and reported to the Secret Service after writing on her Facebook page her hopes that President Obama is assassinated in his second term in office.

'And another 4 years of the n*****. Maybe he will get assassinated this term..!!' Denise Helms of Turlock, California wrote immediately after the president's re-election on Tuesday.

And the article (linked through the headline above) emphasizes that Helms was "unapologetic and unsure of what she did wrong."

Oy.
Freakin'.

I'm so very sorry for this tragic loss. Hug! May peace and comfort come soon to him and everyone that knew and loved/love him. :rose:

It wasn't today...but I'm still angry about the loss of my uncle but am hopefully other family members dealing with addiction will see his loss as a wakeup call.

Thank you. So true SW. Hugs are always appreciated Curious.

His obituary says he was tragically lost trying to warn others of danger. And you know, I'm not surprised at all that he would do that. I sure hope he realized how many lives he touched.
