I find it sad that a man who claims to be educated doesn't know the form of government of his own country. You would be accurate in saying we live in a democratic republic but we do not live in a democracy(rule by the majority over the minority).

You could go to any library at any major university and research it yourself. Maybe you weren't taught the difference because you went to a public or a religious school. Although, as sad as this may be, Christian Churches have used the argument that the reason they can dictate to the rest of us is because we live in a republic not a democracy.

Speaking of democracy, if we did live in one, I would have marriage equality in every State in this union because the majority of Americans, many of them good Christians, are for equal marriage rights. As for the rest of the issues important to those of us who are LGBTQ many have a majority or are approaching a majority. The truth is it's the religious and conservative minority who are the ones denying rights to equality, something they could not do in a democracy.

I think you do better as a troll than trying to really debate!

I really have to kind of agree with desertslave. It seems they know just what animals to show to tug at your heart. It makes me so sad to even watch. I don't need to see that. I know they are doing it to get donations, but no matter how much I donate, I'm still going to see those sad faces.

I'm just disgusted with the commercials. Like I said, they know just what sad faces of the animals to show. Those commercials make me sad. I know the commercials are geared to get people to donate money, and I'm sure they work, but I'm also nocturnal and just don't like seeing those commercials. Sometimes they're run over and over and while I'm sure they're effective, I switch the channel every time I see one come on.

The ones that show the children are equally disturbing, and I know they are also geared towards donations, but for some reason, the ones that show mistreated animals bother me more.
