I know. Besides, you're all better at editing my work than I am...I have a tendency to be in love and marry my words...It's a bad cycle.

I think one of the greatest breakthroughs one can make in poetry is when we finally learn to let go.

You've worked hard on a piece, set it aside, and when you return to it your objective eye tells you that you've created one heinous piece of poetry. What do you do?

congratulate myself because it will invariably mean i've grown since i wrote it.

Given that I only wrote it a week ago, I'm not seeing much in personal growth here.

Anyways, I deleted that sucker off my HD and now will go on as if it never existed. I figure if it's something I'm meant to write, it will resurface.
