Whats better than prunes on oatmeal?

In 43 states and 4 territories its illegal to use bananas on anything but corn flakes and peanut butter.

*shakes head* Poor poor deprived people :D The other 7 states and 1 territory are very enlightened indeed :D :D

Luckily, I'm from Canuckistan :p

Maple syrup and walnuts. Yummmmm.

Only had grits once and I thought they were nasty. Maybe I didn't get good ones.

The absolute very best sex I ever had in this life was courtesy of a Canadian woman, but the banana thing scares me. I wonder if she was high on bananas.

I love oatmeal with raisins, walnuts, about half of a splenda packet, and a splash of milk. This, with toast, is my favorite breakfast.

Grits with butter are awesome! (Real butter!)

And, JBJ, starting a thread on oatmeal? Brilliant! You've got a great sense of humor, man. :) Although, even though I am with you on the bananas with corn flakes and with peanut butter, I do believe they are probably more versatile than this. Have you ever dipped bananas in melted, dripping chocolate???

Guys dont do bananas and chocolate. Its in the Bible.

Didnt you usta have a tv show on Nickelodeon PB&J OTTER?

You couldnt know this, of course, but they usta call me MISTER NOODLE cuz I did the noodle dance to make asshole clients go away.

For those of you who don't eat oatmeal due to the "slime" factor, try this.

{All amounts are per the box recipe.}

Boil water and salt, if desired, along with a handful of dried fruit if you'd like. {Blueberries are my favorite, although they will turn the finished product kinda grey.}

Remove pan from heat. Pour in old-fashioned oats. Stir. Put lid on pot and set aside for five minutes.

Drain off excess liquid and serve. Brown sugar is best, of course, but feel free to add your own choice of sweetener.

^^^

Depends on who cooks it. Cause yeah, I've had some improperly cooked oatmeal - and yeeeahhh. *shudders*

Oh, but it can be.

Its not possible on Earth, no way!

I cant count the ways youre wrong! A merciful God will not allow slimy oatmeal in his universe.

fruit on french toast

Almost anything EXCEPT prunes....

berries of all kinds! bananas ! sliced apples cooked in a sauce !

Grits need butter, salt, and pepper. And eggs. Over easy. Runny eggs. All blended in one, glorious mess.

Unless we're talkin' cheese grits, brown gravy, light bread, and fried mullet.

If there's a heaven, and I have my doubts, grits will be on the menu.

Goddamn! I think youre a genius! Its the only way to eat eggs and grits. Any other way is not only WRONG but immoral and prolly illegal in the South.

Sometimes I have it for lunch and make it Congee style: scallions + cilantro + soy sauce + sesame oil + chili paste and it makes a hearty lunch.

It's also good with pumpkin pie spice.

Or maybe your just a yankee. :p (teasing!)

My husband puts sugar in his grits!

Makes me lose my mind as a southern girl. :)

I like my oatmeal with apple, walnuts and dried cranberries. Oh, and just a hint of brown sugar.

I think I love you.

I make a shake every morning for breakfast that is as follows:

1/2 cup of old fashioned oatmeal
1 tbsp coco
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup of almond milk or coconut milk
1 tbsp of orange-blossom honey

Stir and keep in fridge overnight

1 banana cut into slices and placed in the freezer

When I get up, I add all of this to my ninja to make my breakfast shake. Sometimes I add vanilla Raw Meal, but I must say...It's delicious!

Apparently you've never eaten breakfast at my mother's house.

I cant say that I've ever been to Oz, no. Have you noticed that no one ever wonders why Dorothy left her house behind in Oz?
