I found an aged asiago cheese with rosemary and olive oil. I may never buy another grating cheese again!

We have remaining meatballs too. I keep them in the freezer. A couple of meat balls for a lonesome soup, or pasta meal, or otherwise vegetarian meal or a sandwich, or just for by the selfs with some salad......or left overs for another meal.

I love freezers. I especially love my freezer inventory:eek:. It makes me feel organised.

I wish I were more organized with freezing things. Instead I always make enough for a couple of meals in succession and use them up. Meatballs are perfect for the freezer, though. They make great fillers for lunches like this one. I didn't have any meat so I made a rolled egg, but meatballs would have been perfect. Or even just hamburger patties. Mini ones like you'd use for sliders.

:sigh: I'm sure I'll better use my freezer in the future.

Your food is always so handsome :D

(^。^) Thank you, I get my inspiration from here. Beware, you can get lost there for hours and also feel slightly silly for not having the mad skills. I often look at my stuff and think, "ack! This could totally be prettier!" I am also envious of cute dishes. I'm eventually going to be that lady stockpiling random dishes because I swear I'll have a use for it sometime.

I think I'm halfway to stockpile lady myself...

Master regularly despairs about our freezer. This time of year it gets pretty gnarly. It's so hot in the garage (where it has to live) that we try to have it open as little as possible, so some things don't end up in the 'right' places (making the wild assumption that there was any organization to begin with). We did do a 'quickie' several weeks ago, but I'm looking forward to the first truly cool day when we can sort through everything easily.

We recently went down to two freezers, the one with the fridge and a chest freezer. The chest freezer the dog and cat good also goes into I get deliveries of that about every six weeks and it takes up a third of the room. ( much better than when we had the bigger dog too, I suppose) the rest has poorly fitting plastic boxes to help roughly divide into sections that make sense to me. The upright freezer/ fridge one..I try and keep in that for that is not raw ingrediants but made up food...so, either left overs, or preboughts ( even I have some, even though I dislike them) and things made ahead. I also put things that people dip into extremely often in there. Here that is frozen peas a loaf of sliced bread) AND tiny pots. So, pots of raw ginger, chillies, etc end up in there.

Its not perfect. I'd really like storage boxes that perfectly fit my chest freezer, but G doesn't think its worth the expense because he thinks they will get broken, ( and these perfect systems, colour coded delight me, but are expensive, and it know I'd be a bit sad on days I had to put vegetables ( green cage) in. Meat red cage. Because I love organasion like that. I would often rather not out things away than put in a wrong place . Not possible with frozen food.

( I have actually asked for domestic appliances for gifts when pushed to choose gifts too:eek:)

We had a chest freezer. I despised it! I had storage boxes, too, but I'm not very tall, and rather round, so I could never reach all the way down for things. The motor, blessedly, died after four years. I ever so respectfully mentioned to Master that if we didn't get an upright for our next freezer, the old one might become a casket for him. He does like our upright, especially since I begged and pleaded for the frost-free model.

Cinnamon buns for the official cinnamon bun day.

They turned out much prettier than my previous attempts, but still leave something to be desired for.

I think they look very good! They look like they could be served in a cafe. (^-^)

Thanks. :)

They're not pretty like my mom's, but one day I'll get there. In cafes the buns are usually huge whereas I like to make mine a bit smaller. I've tried to make big ones, but they always unravel for some reason.

Master made hash browned potatoes to which I added pancetta, sauteed shallots and garlic, and chipotle & cumin for a little spice. He cooked up the taters, and I made fried eggs for toppers. It was goooood!

Thanks. :)

One place here used to make huge cinnamon buns, I mean like gigantic and big enough to be a lunch.
They were soo good though and almost not done in the middle. Totally impossible to eat without loud moaning sounds.
Sadly the place has new owners and the cinnamon buns are just regular ones now.

We had small but very good ones baked by a friend today tocelebrate Kanelbullens Dag.
Daal for dinner first though.

Thanks for dinner inspiration. The daal, not cinnamon buns. :)

There's a place here that sells really huge cinnamon buns, too. They're as big as the plate they come on, which is a regular sized bread plate. It's fun taking kids there, they can't stop staring the buns with their mouths open the first time they see them. Lots of parents take pics of their kids holding the bun next to their face for comparison, too. :)
