You can register for a free account and there are free reports that are quite good, for computer read outs. I'd caution anyone using Internet resources for chart interpretations.. A computer cannot interpret complex aspects... for example:

A computer can interpret Mars conjunct Saturn

And it can interpret Saturn conjunct Pluto..

But it CANNOT interpret Mars conjunct Saturn conjunct Pluto.. and the meaning changes considerably.

Just a word to the wise, a computer can only do so much.

You are quite right and your grandmother was correct as well. The exact degree, *is* what it is.. and it isn't anything else...

29 degres Scorpio is Scorpio...... (**but the 29th degree has a meaning all of its own...)

0 degrees Sagittarius is still Sagittarius ...

What IS important in the instance of a cusp, is this:

The decan; it is like an alert to the astrologer to be careful about time of birth, because it matters. That is all it means. It is just a red flag to be careful in the preparation of a chart because it could mean the difference between one sign and another.

There is no such thing as a planet being in two signs or a blending of two signs by a single planetary position.

However, there are lots of instances where the native can take on characteristics of two signs close together. BUT that is most likely because other planets are placed in one or both of the signs involved in the cusp of the Sun sign..

Mercury is never more than two signs away from the Sun sign and usually either in the same sign as the Sun, the one behind or the one ahead of the Sun sign.

Venus also, travels very close to the Sun and is generally only one or two signs away from the Sun Sign. So, having characteristics of the sign behind or the sign in front of the Sun sign is NOT unusual at all.
