Who genderised dominant? (Why do we need Domme?)

Canada lives and dies from exports. A strong Canadian Dollar is not good for exports. BECAUSE it costs everyone more of their money to buy Canadian stuff.

I own two cars. Both were made in Canada. What do you suppose will happen to the price of Canadian cars?

Go up? Anywho, looks like the Us is becoming less important for our exports. As long as we can expand our west coast ports, we've got Asia to sustain our economy. Of course, this means more people have to move from southern Ontario into Western Canada. Quebec is insulated because of brand-name power (Bombardier and the sort.)

Okay, one of you evil bastards own up... who decided that the word "dominant" only refers to males? I mean, there's nothing in the word that implies that.

It's not contradictory to have a female dominant, nor is it over explanatory to have a male dominant. So why is there an assumption that if I refer to a "Dom" (as an abbreviation of dominant) that I am refering to a male? Why must I type the abomination of "Dom/me" to be inclusive? If I wanted to be exclusive, I would write "male dom" or even "male dominant"

On the flip side we have submissive. Fortunately, they seem to be okay. A submissive can be male or female, so it is joyfully non-exclusive.

So why oh why do we have to go on thinking that Doms must be male?

I use the word Dom to refer to myself. I have had people try to correct me as well. My response has always been your specific question.

Dominant can be used by either gender.

See my thread Ask a Dom:) I've gotten numerous PM's telling me it should be ask a Domme

For the sake of combatting androcentrism, I hereby request to be referred to as a "Dominus"

There, that solves everything.

Dominus does not respond to dominatrix, but does respond to domina. So I ask, is dominatrix dead?

Further yet, what about the bottom end?

Submissor and submissix?

Submissivus and submissiva?

You miss the whole point. A strong Canadian Dollar makes your stuff more expensive everywhere. It also makes American stuff cheaper than Canadian stuff. So if youre Mister Toyota in Japan, and you need a boat load of lumber, do you buy cheap American boards or expensive Canadian boards? America has West Coast ports, too.

On this gender business: Does any guy REALLY give a crap what the women call themselves or how they feel about it? No. It's just more whining from the second stringers on the bench.

Everything's more bombastic in Latin, cool.

FWIW I used "Domina" --- as my pro designation if I *had* to, but had the clientle call me Ms. ___ as they would if I were their boss and this was real life.

I'm sorry, but now I can't get the album Mass in F Minor by the Electric Prunes out of my head. Bad Netz, bad Netz!

Hint: Think "Do...mi....na" sung to the Kyrie. If you remember the movie Easy Rider, the Prunes' Kyrie was playing behind the funeral dinner that Fonda and Hopper at after the death of the Jack Nicholson character.

Oh, it's been known a long time Indonesian wood was cheaper than Canadian wood, even when the Canadian dollar was at 61.95 cents US. But wood was still being chosen from Canada as opposed to Indonesia. Logistics and the sort.

Also, the Canadian dollar has only been climbing 5-10% over the last 5 years against the other currencies so we haven't been hit on that front - enough that we can still exploit that.

Dammit, I guess I fail at being a "guy" again.

Oh yes, to the second point.

I hope you don't mind me grabbing the rubber gloves. This is only going to get interesting from here on in.
