Interesting...I made the same (apparently) mistaken assumption when he first rared his little banty-rooster comb in a thread a couple of months ago.
He just SEEMED like a GB'r. Since (at the time) he had maybe 50 posts, I figured he was hiding, licking his wounds under a new ID.
He was a newbie that knew his way around the board handily but yet steered clear of the GB.
(He has occasionally gone there, had his ass handed to him and left)
He is obviously tech-savvy, has alluded to use of other boards, so he probably just pulls this crap on random boards until he gets tired of all the "childishness" (anyone calling him out for uncivil behavior) and finds a new batch of people to slither up to.
The term troll gets abused, I feel. There are people that just enjoy stirring up dissent and getting under people's skin just as a sadistic thrill. You know...like that kid who pulled wings off flies?
I really don't think he is like that.
I think he sincerely thinks he is the smartest guy in the room..(maybe before Lit he ran with a dumber crowd?). He IS reasonably bright though obviously social stunted but aren't we all in one way or another?
My middle child came home one day with a scowl on her face. Her Mom asked her "What is wrong, Middlechild, you look like you had a bad day?'
Her response is what I think he honestly feels... "It's not ME it's OTHER PEOPLE!!"
He genuinely seems to believe that large swaths of people here are not just beneath him but antagonizing HIM by their ineptitude.
He gets in petty squabbles, here, there and everywhere. His ridiculously high post count per day means every three days he gets a clean slate when you search his posts, so unless you read a LOT of threads as some of us do, you just don't happen to see the skirmishes.
He really does seem to feel that all these "childish people" (that HE starts trouble with by nitpicking at) are truly unreasonable. I think he believes that his in-congruent pleasantries laced between his little conniptions add up to him being a net positive Litizen here...
He's certainly not the most disagreeable person we have ever had the pleasure of meeting over the years here, but he is an interestingly unique case study in narcissism and general maladroitness.
For purely a purely sadistic entertainment I poked the bear this morning and was puzzled as to why he didn't sink teeth into the bait..
Turns out he was right here with his self deprecatingly depicted, average-sized lance tilting at yet another burning windmill puzzled why people are pointing at the lighter in his hand.
The thing that sold me on his pathology was the very incident that he keeps alluding to in ways that I gather he finds clever. He started two additional separate alt's to go after someone..I never did figure out where that fight ever started or over what but it is DEEPLY important to him.
He went so far as to have one of the alts babble on about the other alt and then arranged for it to "slip' and out the tormented party as the actual "mastermind" behind the two offensive alts apparently tormenting himself.
This "proof" of "outing" was only noticed or remarked on by him and he did so IMMEDIATELY and GLEEFULLY shouting hosannas at the proof he had in hand.
That alone was weird, but he keeps bringing it up like its a mythical battle hard fought and well-won in the annuls of the great battles in Lit history...a history he has been apart of for two months.
I thought I had a fair amount of time on MY hands.
I realize there's nothing a narcissist hates more than being ignored but this guy fascinates me.
does anyone remember the odd weightlifter guy living in a vending machine warehouse working out alone and posting the results randomly here?
This is like the same guy only exercising his brain instead of his muscles...kind of interesting. But then again I am easily amused.

I think he is talking about drinkz, though I'm not entirely sure — query did mention a "ridiculously high post count per day". Drinkz' is at 56.93 posts per day.

as someone who used to post maybe 80 times a day, that doesn't seem so high. but then a lot of those were short posts, like one or two worders. and i was at home all day...
