Not that it matters, but just for the record I disagree with the views expressed by most on this thread.

In my view, power and pain are integral aspects of human sexuality - as are tenderness, humor, sensuality, and so on. The mix varies from person to person and context to context, of course. But in general, I don't see the world as divided between those who belong under some so-called "BDSM umbrella" and those who do not.

What i was saying was that although some people, and i'm pressuming a fair amout of us, count ourselves as being under this 'BDSM umbrella' in my oppinion i dislike how BDSM is all inclusive in a way. I don't believe that BDSM is all about fetishes - that's what fetish threads are for - of course it can include fetishes (from reading the threads on this forum people have bondage fetishes ect. which are included in BDSM) but not everyone does have a fetish.

I don't know, this is all completely off-topic now, i just think that there should be another forum for it, and people who want to be part of both can...
Any ideas where we can ask about that?

Probably because there are only two places dedicated to discussing sex on its own as opposed to sex in the context of a story or similar, and it fits better in the BDSM section than the GLBT section. As for the original topic, I was about to chime in with something like "hey got nothing against the first two but that third's a tad illegal". Theshop got there before me, even if he did go all internet tough guy on us with the last couple of lines.

Took me a little while to work out the first post and point of this thread.

It's a fair point. This is a BDSM forum but it seems to encompass a fair few aspects of general Fetish. I am guilty of this, I am not into BDSM (although I find some threads on here fascinating), but I am into some strong fetish stuff, so I am cluttering up the forum replying to threads about buttplugs and starting ones about watersports. It just seemed like a reasonably sensible forum to get some views on.

It's up to the site mods and I guess a vague consensus of users isn;t it?? One could keep the general fetish stuff on here, or alternatively have this as a pure BDSM forum (which it certainly seems strong and focused enough to be), AND have a Fetish forum covering, well, serious anal, watersports, scat, fisting, gaping, body mods, animals, and whatever else. I think that could be fine, as long as it's well used and well supported....
