Why do people make the comments they do?

You should only comment on a story if you really love it or if there is a glaring mistake that the author made. Even that comment on the glaring mistake should be made with civility. If you totally hate a story .. don't comment and just give it a low rating. There really is no need for negative comments.

You don't think the SEC is the best?

Good news for you, then. Paco Fear didn't go anywhere. Just doesn't post very often. (Right after what you quoted was posted PF posted something on another thread (in Editors) agreeing with me--so Elfin's post, once again, was only a figment of her crazy witch of the "just pretend" bile.)

Can I be the ACC instead?

I guess you can be the ACC but I thought that I was doing you a favor putting you in the best conference. But yes you are now the ACC.

The story that Paco Fear wrote that so impressed me was ' Outsourced'. I thought that it was great. The way he let you get to know his character as well as his wife's was so well done. It was written in the first person I think. but it has been a while since I have read it.

Actually I really want those who really dislike my stories to tell me why, and not just 1-bomb the story. I don't care about the ratings -- but I am very curious about how people will receive the story.

I don't care about abuse either, I just prefer feedback to simply getting a number, and watching bemusedly as my ratings swing wildly up and down.

But isn't the point that the 1-bombers don't care what you'd prefer? And that they get a thrill on hearing that you haven't gotten what you'd prefer?

Thanks for the insight!

I found this thread valuable for putting some of the surprising comments I received to my first Loving Wives submission into perspective. In an earlier comment, I mentioned finding inspiration in those comments for a sequel the imflammatory submission. I said I would post a link when it was posted - and you'll find that link my signature as Doing It for You - Ch 02. I don't imagine a chapter three, I just wanted to roll as many of the hateful comments made into the story thread. It made me happy. :D

Apparently, flaming comments are the norm in the Loving Wives section. With thicker skin, a HUGE sense of humor, and the lesson that I'm supposed to moderate comments made, I think I'm well braced for whatever the great, unwashed masses have to say. Story related comments stay. Personal attacks without a story comment go. That will remain my policy for the time being.

I'm taking another shot at 'Loving Wives'

I had a story posted in 'Loving Wives' and it got so many reads, so fast that I was amazed. There were several comments, they ran about equal as far as constructive criticism, or negative hateful comments. But I listened to the critics and ignored the hateful.

I later removed the story and re-wrote it, changing it so much that I am re-posting it under a new title, in Loving Wives. It is with the Editor now, it should post in the next couple of weeks.

I think that "loving Wives' while a tough crowd, is such a large percentage of our readership here that they deserve to be courted by a writer. I am holding true to my values as a writer. I am still trying to make the story read as a real life event that is erotic, unusual but still believable. I just tried to make it more appealing to the folks reading it.

I hope they read the newer version and let me know if I am going in the right direction or not.

Go on to the next

Mikey,
I was in the very same place as you. I wrote a stand alone story and, although I got a lot of great feedback, I felt some of the criticism was justified. I was also asked a ton of questions about motives for the character's behavior. So, I wrote a second chapter. That created even more controversy so I decided to rewrite the entire thing over, even adding a third chapter.
After all was said and done, the original story still earned higher marks than any of the aftermath.
I am coming to the conclusion that I take what I learn from all the comments and apply that to the NEXT story. Just keep in mind, you can't please all the people all the time.
Good luck.
Loving Wives is brutal, but great forum. It's what most of my stuff is in as well.

mikey2much thanks you for taking the time to read his stories and hopes that you enjoyed them. I am trying to build a little personality and adventure into my stroker stories so I might get a few too many words in between the sex acts. Sorry about that.

I could be way off, but it feels to me as if LV is full of (mostly) anonymous, misogynistic, homophobes who believe a woman's place is pregnant in the summer, barefoot in the winter, and on her knees worshipping their husbands every step moment. If she's in public, she should be absolutely asexual. They come across to me as either sad, broken individuals or Taliban wannabes. Who could ever imagine a woman who fully embraces her sexuality, is unafraid to express and explore it, and who still chooses a partner to "love, honor, and cherish until death do they part?" Yeah, I left out the word "obey," because I don't believe in servitude outside of a BDSM atmosphere. Growth is a bitch!

Mikey - I quoted part of your signature line because I don't think you should apologize for there being "too many words" between sex scenes. I used to write erotica for magazines with specific guidelines - 3000 words, two sex scenes, etc. Writing for here, you can let loose the inner scribe without apologies. And I think there are enough people who visit this site, you'll find an audience. Be true to yourself, dude!

Appears to me that LV has various opposing factions reading, so there's no formula for pleasing the bulk of the readers there as there appears to be in, for instance, Incest. You inevitably get caught in the cross-fire.

You will never please eveyone in LW because there are too many sub-groups there. 1; is the cheating wife. 2; is the cuckold 3; is the humitiate the spouse at all cost group. And even these groups have sub-groups. So you will not please all of the readers of LW at anytime and there is no need to even try.

I have never read an LW story, as no variation of it really does anything for me. However I read the comments all the time and nothing anywhere else on this site can compare to the pure maliciousness and bitterness that goes on there, it is crazy.

I also have to admit that I agree with Pilot that LW defies "formula". all other genre's seem to have a formula or cliche type story that will work. Not here though to many twisted souls that are twisted in too many driections

On an internet forum some people feel the need to build themselves up by tearing others down. However, most posters seem only to leave comments if they have something complimentary to say.
