Winter Holiday 2024 Contest Support and Seasonal Story Discussion Thread

Mine should be coming out tomorrow (11/19). Check my sig. This one was a lot of fun to write, and I think some subconscious stuff got in there. It's always interesting when that happens.

Boxing day? He's either a little late or really, really early for next year

UPDATE-Updated
My story count of published stories - 11th 14, 12th 26, 13th 31, 14th 36, 15th 43, 16th 48, 17th 48, 18th 49.
So 14 + 12 + 5 + 5 + 7 + 5 + 0 + 1 (but might update later in the day and if I notice I'll update!)
OK, this is probably the weekend lull that I have noticed before, so expect a bumper Monday 18 Tuesday 19th.
Actingup's graph will have a slump / bump but I am sure he can predict over it!

I have made a (small) rod for my own back (with extra flail) and would stop the flagilation but have been told NOT TO!
I just saw that mine, Christmas Connection, will be out tomorrow. It’s a romance, most definitely, but because there’s three people involved, it’s also my first foray into group sex. There were times where having a third person just made it feel a little unwieldy and redundant, and other times where it was absolutely necessary to the story. I don’t know how other people write, but I’m a pantser (versus a plotter, knowing full well that most of us here are no-pantsers…), and I so rarely have any idea what’s coming next until I find myself typing it. Like “whoa, she said that? I had no idea she was even thinking that!”

Anyway, I enjoyed writing it.

Stupid question: How do you know in advance when your piece is coming out? Is it that it is marked as "pending" but as tomorrow's date showing (i.e., mine says 11/19)?

Also, the thing I LOVE about writing is how I am the creator, and yet the creation is somehow beyond me in some way. I might think I know what's going to happen, but the words and sentences can take me anywhere.

Pending will change to "NEW" and a date will appear for its publication date.

Good on you for discovering the secret of writing. We control our own worlds and in the end provide our own entertainment that we share with others. I've given up TV because I find my stories more intriguing than the dreck that's pumped out by Hollywood.

As Dunleigh said - I submitted my story early, so it had the date of the start of the competition, not the next day, which is the norm.

I like to (approximately) quote Terry Pratchett (Discworld and more) who* said he sets the stage, and introduces characters to it, with an idea where he expects it to go, but then has to keep up as they have their own ideas, much better than his own. - Sounds like you WriterPerson314159 and I have the same 'problem'.

*GRHS - not that he belived in God or his Soul but whatever there might be, His is Rested. 😢

The annoying thing though is that when they have their own thoughts and feelings, the porn movie plots all fall apart :) It turns out that most people like to have conversations and complicated messy lives before they jump into bed...

That sure sounds like my literary hero. I wrote an Octalogy (8 stories making up one main story) set on Sir Terry's discworld and soon found that my characters only needed me to operate the keyboard and nudge the spell checker on occasion. They completed episode 1 on time and under budget. Before I knew it they had taken the throne of Lancre, employed Dragons (big ones, not swamp dragons) to enforce the law, and were importing gold from the Agatean Empire. (Don't get me started on the trouble they caused on XXXX!) Of course I can never publish their antics but it amuses me and garners a few good reviews.

Nope, it's exactly the appropriate time. You'll need to read the story to the end to figure out why. ;)
Boxing Day is traditionally the day for charity giving, including to your servants, isn't it? We've laid off all of our servants, so I've lost touch a bit.

Western New York is really the only place in the US were I've seen Boxing Day celebrated, and it's always charitable giving rather than the original intent of tipping servants. But we'll tip the staff at our local bars, pubs, and restaurants a little more richly

The post-weekend bump in stories. @AlexFourways (I'm just doing a copy and paste from the page into a spreadsheet, which gives me a count of the stories and consistent links if I want to track what I've read without the story order changing around all the time). I'm not counting audio stories, if there are any.

Bit like you when I write - I start with a given idea then as it develops, some sort of 'génie' takes over and pulls it in directions I never thought of before - that's what happened with the last two stories I posted Halloween Libertine Party and Impromptu Sex Beach Party. and the one I sent for Winter Holiday 2024, still pending and a few others still to be completed.
Oh I see the story is no longer pending it's up - it goes by the title of Christmas Family Game Gets Steamy and describes how an innocent slide show turns licentious because of a slide not supposed to be there - No incest there even if it's happening in the Family.

Acting Up, I missed this before I did my own update.
Can I pass the mantle over to you now?
My only comment from the GMT side of the world, let alone EST is that you seem to be showing the date as the 20th November when it is the 19th were I am sat?

Yes, and just because I set up the spreadsheet as 'the 24 hours up until 5 pm AEST (ish) on that date'. It won't matter in the long run

🐊ISWYM 😉 I was doing the date on the ( opening of time period, and you on ) closing of the same.
I presume the mantle is passed to your good self as you are beating me out of the blocks and doing a better job!

Blessed Magdalene! I am up to 56k words of torrid incestuous and blasphemous sex. It's fun but I think it's going to offend far too many people to be a serious competition story, so I shall just have fun making it as outrageous as possible. I shall of course suffer a thousand years of unending torment in purgatory as a consequence but it should be worth it for the comments alone. LOL. The bukkake scene on the altar, presided over by Father Auyeung, is completely OTT. Think soapy massage mixed with Catholic ritual and, uh, a replacement for the soap. "You are blessed with the Seed of the Lord..." rotflmao and don't worry, the plot is not at any danger from spoilers. There is no plot. LOL
OMG
Kick out the jams!
You better have lightning arresters installed, Missy.

Thanks for that Actingup!🐊
The first vote I got for The Druid's Winter Solstice Gift (well if ShelbyDawn57🦋 can do it 😏) was a 5, then after 4 votes it was 4, so either the first 1 bomb of the season or a 3 and two 4s. Impossible to tell but not a bad start in 8 hours and 355 visits* towards 25 minimum! Also two favourites as well!
Hope you are all getting great figures as well.

*I expect that a number of them will be click scan and leave!
I’ll say I read it and quite liked that it was written in vernacular terms.
And that the Druid got to be bone daddy for the fertility rite.
In the furtherance of marital harmony. Of course.

I tried my best - readers seem to have liked it

🤔Well you know more than me. At least two candidates. Ever wonder what it was with the acoylite and the sacred signs?
In the furtherance of marital harmony. Of course.
More importantly in the furtherence of the family of the best pig breader south of the hills and north of the sacred stones.
