Word of the day to ponder over

My word today is special. It's been a very special day where my husband and I just relaxed and enjoyed each other's company.

My word of the day is quoll's from 10/27: quiet.

Except now it's too quiet. :D

Wanna swap, I'll have the quiet and you can have the nagging and circular reasoning of the 4 yo and the social injustice of the 8 yo. *fingers in ears emote*

Irritation, because it seems to describe every reaction my body and mind are making to the whole forsaken day. Ah, but as that wise woman once say, "tomorrow is another day." Yeah, fucking right.

my word is PEACE, I just want some peace in my life. it seems like i just can't get any these days, my life is filled with such tension and i am a wreck and i am just craving a little peace right now.

WOTD = Love

Love Not enough of it in my world. I also need to reevaluate what it means.

I'm with dramaqueen. I'm trying to refine my understanding of love and how it differs from passion and romance, infatuation and affection.

My word for today is Balance.
I hope that all those struggling in some way with their partners can find some balance in their lives. :rose: :rose:

You've probably seen this, but Cate started a nice thread about it , calleding Defining Love.

My personal take is there are different classifications of love: familial love, romantic love, friendship, for example. Their are different qualities to each of them, such as passion, infatuation, affection, caring, respect.

Even within familial love there are classifications. Love for a parent is quite a different experience than love for one's own child. Each type involves caring and probably some degree of affection, but respect is probably more a quality you have towards your own parents rather han towards your kids (until they mature of course). Likewise, romantic love is exhibited by an intense sexual-emotional regard for each other, where friendship doesn't have that quality.

Well, I just hijacked my own thread! Maybe I'll continue this in the Defining Love thread. Checkitout!

That's a great hope, quoll. I hope it works for you, too.

My WOTD is ALONE. We romantics like to think that we are connected magically with the one we love. In reality, we're alone together. There are special moments when a spark threads us together...but then the cold air kills the spark and we stand beside each other, alone together.

Yes! Okay, I'll look for that thread :)

Be

Just for today, just do that. That is all.
Good choice. If we could all just be as we follow our journeys through life, perhaps more of the journey would make sense to us.

Be (again).

Hope it's okay to have that for two days in a row. After what's already gone on today that's all I have the energy for.

Be huh?

Well, not to go all philospher on you, E, but maybe it will distract you a bit.

Not many words are more important than "Be." "God" is up there, but then for many "God" is the same as "Be." "I am that I am" or whatever it was from Exodus. But I didn't mean to go there. For those who haven't been through formal philosophy training, remember that the words is, am, are, was, were, being, and such are all the word "be."

Be 1) Says something exists. Trees are. Love is. Unicorns are not.
Be 2) Connects a description to an object in a sentence. The sky is blue. The grass is green. Eudaemonia is wonderful.
Be 3) Says something is exactly the same as something else (identity). Water is H2O. Cicero is Tully. Clark Kent is Superman. (sorry if that last one is a spoiler for anyone :) )
I know there is a 4th I am forgetting.

It depends on what the meaning of "is" is.
M-Y

Oops

I think I missed the point of this thread. I knew I should have read more than the last 5 entries or so. My word of the day is Procrastinate because it seems that is all I am capable of doing.

<smirk> That almost elicited a (much-needed) chuckle from me. Thanks.
Almost? I guess I'll just have to keep trying.
