I don't know CA. Me I'm a fashion-monger and a shop-a-holic. I like the doir shoes too. In what realm would those be considered sporty?(as per the description listed?) I'll be in them all day so 4inches is too much.(the last time I'll ever say that lol)

Shoes...

Not all guys are immune to the shoe thing...I have about 35-40 pairs, everything from dress to boots, Nikes to Reebok to Timberland. There is not an outfit I own I can't match. Even have blue/orange kicks to match Padre gear and blue/gold to match Charger gear.

Me, I see them as a necessary evil.

I hate buying shoes. I hate going into shoe shops and trying on 20 pairs of shoes that doesn't fit, or are uncomfortable to walk in, or have the kind of heels that make you trip every second step.

Whenever it's warm enough, I walk barefoot.

At least your mother wants to be there. My youngest daughter's bridesmaid "came out" a month before my daughter's wedding. The bridesmaid and her SO had to stay with us the night before the wedding because her mother wouldn't speak to her or have her in the house.

She has to talk to her father when he's at work because her mother will slam the phone down or pull the cord out of the wall if she rings home.

As non-involved parties we have known about her choice for years. She has been our daughter's friend since infant school despite my daughter's preference for males. They started a football (soccer) team together. "Teamwork" had a new meaning with some of the players. I used to take some of them in my minibus to and from matches. I had to keep my eyes on the road but perhaps because I never commented or criticised I was the parental driver of choice (or maybe it was the minibus).

Yes I do admit that I'm fortunante that my parents are realativly open minded but Lucky? Surely you jest absence makes the heart grow fonder.

So true. After what I said I thought a bit. My only outlet is poetry so I wrote an unrehearsed verse for my mother.

I haven’t always said I love you
but I’ve always meant it.

I often wonder what kind of person I would be
if you hadn’t been my mother
my template for a woman

I realize now how lucky I am to have a mother who cares the way you do
and if I had been given a chance to choose my mother
I would have chosen you

And for all the times in the past
the thank you is real now
and for all the times to come
the thank you is here now
and somehow I don’t have the words
to measure
