Blacked vs. Bleached: Porn Industry Debate

I don't think she was (or is) married, and it's hard to say that OnlyFans "cost" her legal career when she willingly switched careers. She's also a middleweight boxing champion.
She indeed was married ... she wasn't planning on giving up her solicitors registration .... and we know all about the boxing.
The mainstream attention worked well in her case ...but not for those who followed.

lol, ok, that’s a little hypocritical, isn’t it? She’s making a lot of money and being called out on it, but you literally said you owned a business that profits from being part of the payment process.

If you’re gonna profit from sex work, you might as well support the sex worker.

I don't care what she does and I support OF completely .... I simply said that in this particular case she made some trade off's that I know have caused her a great deal of pain in her personal life.

That would not have been a choice I would have advised her to make under her particular circumstances at the time.

But when you can make £2.7m in a year it seems like a great deal ..... and for many it IS a great deal ...but it isn't for everyone.

Besides the ones that came after her and causing OF and Fansly a lot of trouble with Visa/MC ... if they continue to ignore the warnings I have no doubt that they will dropped for the greater good of the platform.

Pornhub used to publish a yearly "heat map" of search terms on their site, and the most frequent search terms in most of the states were variations of "black/white interracial;" IIRC, its popularity here made us an outlier on the map.
I forget which news outlet published it, but I remember seeing a similar "heat map" which showed that certain states in the Deep South, specifically those which kept anti-miscegenation laws on the books right up until Loving v. Virginia, had the highest interest in Black/White interracial, Ebony, BBC, etc.

The state that stuck out as a pretty personal outlier for me was California where the top porn search term was, and is, "Asian".

Do love me an Asian! It's like standing in a 1cent lolly shop with porn these days. Everything costs nothing and you just try all the flavours until you throw up. then you search 'vomit'.

And get Max Hardcore.

It’ll be a good day when stuff like this”blacked” and other interracial stuff isn’t going to be so highly searched, because it’ll mean enough people won’t see it as taboo or weird, and hopefully stop fetishizing black men.

It never ceases to amaze me that payment processors are willing to abandon a lucrative market like this.
Nothing to do with the processors or the acquiring banks it's actual Visa/MC head offices that set the rules the banks tow the line only because under their agreements that can be fined for non compliance.

I mean, we probably have the highest proportion of Asian people here.

I'm an Anglo white guy what have you. I can get on with the whole concept of bleached. The whole blacked thing or black men with white women or any other non white women does nothing for me personally. I have always wondered how many of their viewers are actually women who are viewing and how many are just white dudes with a cuckold fantasy who want to see thier women getting railed by some thugged out looking black guy with tattoos all over. I honestly think it is more so the latter than the former.

I think there's more to it than that. The racial history behind the Asian fetish isn't quite as tortured as the one that drives the popularity of Blacked/BlackedRaw, but the Page Act of 1875 (a precursor to the Chinese Exclusion Act) was introduced to "end the danger of cheap Chinese labor and immoral Chinese women." It effectively barred Chinese women from coming to the United States due to the "threat of their sexuality to the United States."

Fast forward 150 years and not only is Asian porn the most popular porn genre in California, where most of those Asian immigrants arrived, but Asian women marrying White men is one of the most common interracial pairings in the US. Go figure.

So they were right about the threat...

Here's a topic for debate: be it resolved that if the Vixen Group created a race-swapped version of Blacked/BlackedRaw (White male actors fucking Black female actresses in a franchise called "Bleached") that it would be commercially successful: Yes, it likely would / Neutral / No, it likely wouldn't.

For clarity, here are some general points:
  • Let's assume that the hypothetical "Bleached" franchise is nearly identical to Blacked/BlackedRaw in all other aspects: same budget, same production values, same marketing efforts, same exotic shooting locations, same sex acts, same everything except for the races of the performers.
  • This hypothetical franchise doesn't have to be AS successful as Blacked/BlackedRaw, that's unlikely; it just has to be financially successful in its own right.
  • The popularity of interracial porn, specifically between Black men and White women, is undoubtedly a product of America's fraught history of race relations, and so the particular appeal of seeing hypersexual Black men laying hands on milky-skinned White women may or may not translate into demand for a race-swapped version of this dynamic.
  • There's also a chicken & egg question here: do the high production values of Blacked/BlackedRaw drive their popularity, or does the popularity of this particular racial pairing justify the high production values? There's probably a virtuous (or vice-filled) cycle here, but if that's true, then the same may (or may not) be true if it were race-swapped.
So, what are your thoughts?
My thoughts, as a white man who has long-adored Asian women ....

.... (my first true gf, who was the first woman I ever had sex with, and whom I dated and lived with for nearly seven years was Japanese ) ....

.... is THIS IS A SPECTACULAR IDEA!😍

I love the way you think and I admire the way you write/articulate. Clearly well-educated and thoughtful ....

That’s such an insightful point! The history behind these fetishes is way more complex than it seems on the surface. The Page Act and its legacy definitely play into how Asian women are hypersexualized today. It’s wild how something rooted in such a dark past has evolved into a modern-day stereotype. Goes to show how deeply history can shape perceptions, even in ways we don’t always realize. Thanks for shedding light on this, it’s an important conversation!

Thats interesting because as a Brit I dont fully understand this 'hypersexual Asian woman' stereotype - depending on what exactly is meant by hypersexual. Whether we're talking East Asian, South East Asian, Indian subcontinent or Middle Eastern, women from those regions have usually been seen as more conservative (and more limited/controlled by their cultures) than Western women. Asian women are seen as attractive, mysterious, and, however bad this sounds, subservient, but not usual sexual in and of and for themselves.

It's pure projection. It's not that (East/Southeast) Asian women are initially seen as hypersexual, it's that they're hypersexualized.

And it's for the exact traits you named - attractive, mysterious, subservient. This is what creates the interest in them and it's what makes them supposedly good sex objects when they do hypothetically put out.

Sexualizing them results in imagining that they're hypersexual.

It’s a complex stereotype rooted in a mix of exoticism, fetishization, and cultural misunderstanding. While some may perceive Asian women as "subservient" or "mysterious," the "hypersexual" label often comes from media portrayals and skewed narratives that reduce them to one-dimensional fantasies. It’s definitely not reflective of reality or the diversity of experiences among Asian women. It’s good to question these stereotypes, they often say more about the people perpetuating them than the people they’re about.

@Britva415 I think what you are saying matches my original conception about how Asian women are often stereotyped, but I'm not sure its quite the same as the points that @Kasumi_Lee and @Audiflex are making - though I'm not fully sure as I'm not exactly with this area of Californian history. I think, though, that the point is that the Page Act promoted the idea that Asian women are 'immoral' and have an inherent 'threat of sexuality' based on the social issue of human trafficking into the sex trade that was happening at the time and that lingers today. Britain didn't get anything like the same level of (South/) East Asian immigration and, later, when immigrants started to arrive from former Commonwealth countries such as India, they were coming officially and into a job-market that needed them. Again, not a historian, but 'foreign' prostitutes would most likely be Irish (still in the UK at the time) or later maybe Eastern European. There would obviously be some talk coming back from sailors and the like about what was on offer in far away ports, but not quite the panic that the Page Act seems to suggest.

I find it interesting because I've occasionally stumbled onto stories in IR which seem to have the thesis of 'Asian women are inherently sluts' baked into them* and my reaction has always been 'Well, no, not really' before stumbling away from them again as quickly as possible. Perhaps this difference of stereotypes explain some of that nonsense.

(* the absolute worst suggesting they are genetically predisposed to sluttiness.)

I think it’s still just projection. The trade in easily exploitable immigrant women wouldn’t occur if white men didn’t sexualize them in the first place. The projection is that it’s the women’s fault, it’s something about them. It’s never about the people exploiting them.

I wasn’t saying there isn’t a stereotype about hypersexual or slutty whores, just that it’s really transparent why they have had this stereotype thrust upon them.

Far more convenient to blame them for corrupting good ol’ boys than to admit that the good ol’ boys are already corrupt.

I have always felt there is a lack diversity in porn as far as the male talent goes. It's rather uncommon to see Latino males, Asian males, Middle Eastern etc in porn in comparison with black guys or white guys.

True in some vids, the 'mom' looks 30, but if you watch a lot of it (Not that I do but...oh, whatever I watch a lot of porn) they tend to be 'step moms' so Dad went for the sugar babe.
I didn't phrase that in a clear manner. I meant to refer to the videos where the "Mom" does a friend or friends of her son's. So you have these scenarios where 30-year-old Mom has an eighteen-year-old with a receding hairline who brings his basketball teammates home before either running an errand or watching in theatrical humiliation.

These used to be in series like "My Son's Hot Friend." There were/are equivalents like "My Daughter's Hot Friend" but, for some mysterious reason, those guys always look old enough to be the girls' fathers.

Hmmm. The history of racial issues in the western world plays a role in people's fantasies which in turn affects porn and erotica. White males never had issues getting with black women or Indian women or Chinese women or Arabian women or native American women. The white woman had no say in a white males alliance with women of color. Since the 1990s, white women having sex with black men shocks and proceeded on titillating the masses across genres. The lure of the forbidden. As a bisexual black man, I've had sex with women and men of all races. I cannot forget the angry looks I got from white guys with black girlfriends...while l was holding hands with a white lady. Make of that what you will.

It's telling that the porn industry has a hard time (pardon the pun) finding Male talent, especially "son age" talent considering it should be such a dream job. "I get to fuck women for pay, sign me up." But to your example its not easy finding younger male porn stars. The young female porn stars are a lot more common, but many don't stay in the business long because they push them to film constantly at the start to get as much content from them before they leave. "Hot girls wanted" was a documentary on Netflix for some time, not sure if it's still around, but it paints the not so flattering truth about the industry and shows why so many women are swapping to Only fans and creating their own content.

Direct on topic the site Blacked is completely unrealistic, if you notice you see the same half dozen or so guys in all the videos because if you show up there with 8 inches they tell you to take a walk, they only hire guys who are freakishly endowed to perpetuate the myth and trope.

But for here we're writing these stories so we can create the character as we feel they should be, porn is limited to who they can hire.

I'm writing a story set in Tampa and around the porn industry and when I googled 'do they still shoot porn in Tampa" which by the way was the adult film hub for some time, this pos up close to the top

The article is about a black man and woman trying to change the tropes in interracial porn. The current state is described as "The guy is always a thug, the woman a 'hip hop babe' and they want to change it.

They won't because end of the day the audience for it, many of whom will be the first to call someone racist, can't get enough of their racist tropes
