the fake amateurs don't bother me from a personal perspective.

it's not a competition. there are some who will find my pictures interesting and others who will not. the presence of someone else's pictures here (am or pro) doesn't change anything.

i like the brouhaha over the fakes, though. it's amusing to watch people get worked up over the fakes... the pictures, the indignation that anyone could think they are fake, the unveiling, the pathos. what great entertainment.

what does bother me is copyright infringement. i'm not fan of stolen intellectual property. making my living off copyrighted information, and writing on the side, i have nothing but respect for other people's intellectual property. i wish everyone else would too.

i abhor the idea that stolen pictures posted here could cause trouble for the board owners.

the hesitant poster in question kicked off her thread tonight. i'm not going to call it out or link to it, but she happens to also use adobe photoshop elements 6.0 on a mac (the same editing package as "cathy's" poster). as i said in cathy's thread, this is not uncommon to use elements or a mac, but i suggested a couple days ago to look for more of it. let's watch and see. there's no reason to think it's not a coincidence.

the controversy is regrettable. i never wanted to be the fake police (that's the mods' job to pull the fakes when they take the time to look at the facts. if they aren't volunteers, i doubt this is their day job). "enforcement" isn't my goal. i wanted to talk to the people here to realize that enough leaders in this community really value the real thing and hate the fakes. this is now happening. is that so bad?

I agree that this is not a competition, but some of us do try hard to take and post good pictures. We also spend time getting to know the posters who like our material. In doing so, relationships are formed. We are all sharing incredibly intimate things with each other and a trust is inevitably developed. When fake posters come, they taint this trust and, in a sense, ruin relationships.

As the poll clearly shows, most of us are here for the connection with other real people. So, it is offensive when fakers come and present themselves as something/someone they are not. And, I'm not even going to get into the legal aspect of stolen pics, but I think we all need to remember how wrong that is. No matter how hot the model is.

it violates flickr's tos to link to an image w/o posting a link back to flickr. i've sent the source of these 5 pages to flickr's abuse team, with an explanation of how cliocathylilwundersumbunnycuckold has been obnoxious with flickr-hosted content they probably don't have the rights to use, and doing so without linking back to flickr. maybe they will boot the account and he'll have to start over again elsewhere.

i've never worked with flickr's abuse team before. it took them 4 days to answer a general question, so we'll see how it goes. here's to dreaming.

there are many who are NOT too good to be true (look, dammit, you made me use capitals). without trying to sounds like an judgemental prick, possibly we could raise our expectations a little and be a little less collectively gullible.

it is reasonable to ask someone who posts pictures of themselves to verify that they are the owner of pictures. the lipstick test is very reasonable, but it needs to be requested with a degree of tact. if the poster doesn't commit, it's no sin, but it speaks volumes.

i get no choice but to stand there and watch the boards fill up with static while 3.51% of people simply jerk at whatever they are looking at that moment.

AMPICS is all about exhibitionism. The (mostly) soft porn here is so interesting because, for the most part, it is offered spontaneously by the posters. I guess that we as onlookers are hooked by the dazzling variety of people willing to let it all hang out. The assumption is that these are all real people and we are disappointed when we are fooled by an "unreal" contributor. The web is what it is and new fakers are out there by the hundreds.

Worrying about whether these folks are "real" or "fake" takes too much energy and gets in the way of the enjoyment. Getting our shorts in a bundle doesn't help keep these folks out of Lit and it may keep legit folks from participating. Adding "truth tests" as a prerequisite to posting will only serve as a barrier to those whose "fear threshold" is too high to take that very scary first step. And THAT IS NOT the result we want.

I have decided that trying to out these "unreal" folks is a losing battle. I am willing to let them post away and I will simply enjoy what they post and let the mods take care of the most egregious scammers. The commentary that folks provide when the scammer is discovered is enough.

I think it's funny when they're busted ... you don't hear another peep from them ... so I'm assuming will be the case here.

some folks were seriously led in to tgs's tripe. i was intrigued and thought i had something to learn from them, like i found some swinger jedi mentor. the ways of the force became the ways of the farce, and it's a disappointment. not a serious disappointment, but enough to make me leery.

lexi smith talked about the small degree of trust that is broken when people try to connect with a fake. simply for the sake of each persons' own "heart" (for lack of a better word), is not a small measure of guardedness appropriate? that responsibility falls back on each person, and i should have been more clear, because this is where i'm suggesting a little bit of skepticism should start - not in the thread by some clown who says things that are obnoxious to many. before replying to the new hot bi 19 year old, the replying party may want to look and see on a few things before getting attached to a thread...

1. did the poster show a face right out of the gate? some do, but most legit ones don't - they have lives to live and naked pics create problems in real life. showing a face (to me) is an indicator that the pics don't belong to the poster
2. are they "too good to be true"? do they start out talking about things that every guy dreams of or remembers back to? college? hot young bi girls? happy swingers? yes, they are out there, but not as many as we have here.
3. are the pictures hosted elsewhere? many fakes are, and some legit ones are. most legits seem to host the pics here. there are legit reasons for both. not judging, just saying.
4. watermarks are a giveaway. i can't find any reason for an amateur to post pics with a site's watermark.

none of these (or even all of these) don't mean "fake", but in context, give it a sniff. if it smells funny, don't eat it.

i agree that the mods should police it to the best of their abilities and resources, and i'm sure they do. i'm also learning to live the with parallel minority culture who doesn't care what they jerk to.

i also agree that scaring off new posters is not acceptable losses.

but the lipstick thing is just too easy to do. if you aren't in to reaching out to where other people are, why show them your tits?

I think in general you can feel when something's not right, but your criteria go a long way to putting those feelings into words.

I hate it when things turn out to be fake but I think it's worse to interact and find out the person played you for a fool. But to your point, that's the reader's fault in the end, not the poster - or at least 50% of it.

Maybe some posters might get put off, but so be it. I'd much rather this board had some level of integrity, instead of turning it into another 4chan or image fap. If you're looking to just get off, go there. If you're looking to get to know someone, tactfully ask them for a specific thing written on their belly or arm. It's not a lot of work, and it means the person you're talking to is the person you're seeing.

I mean, I understand this is fantasy, and I would never have any chance to sleep with ANY of the women on here, but if there's some doubt in my mind as to who I'm talking too, than it kind of ruins the experience. great question. not really an answer, but more of a guess. women don't seem as visual with how they are sexually excited as guys are. that does not say that women don't like seeing guys, clothed or not - only that men are more typically led around by visual porn (at least according to stereotypes).

i don't have any studies or proof, just observing generalisations in society.

I am a bit disappointed to have found out this was a fake profile, but thinking about it, this is the internet, and a forum for, presumably, writers and readers of erotic fiction. It's hardly far cry to imagine that if people read fantasy they will use this forum at some point to find people to act out fantasies online. The chances of someone being fake are probably about 50/50 if you ask me. Like previous posters have said, there are certain things which might cry out that the user is fake, but so what, their name and face might be different but chances are their fantasies, thoughts, beliefs and actions will be the same, only the cover has changed.

Later the camera was found by someone else and they place them online in hopes to find her and return the camera and even meet the girl. i had the most amazing experience today

i've been watching heatlessfever's threads, and there was something about them that just didn't line up for me. i had nothing solid to say about her veracity, so i didn't want to be a dick (any more than my innate nature already makes me).
