Let’s Annoy Bry1313 with CHRISTMAS

Story time!
I was raised on oldies, but my favorite aunt was a HUGE Brenda Lee fan. She was also the Brenda Lee Fan Club president for our state, so as you can imagine, I was force fed a lot of her music.

I went to a concert withh her when I was a Junior in high school. The Coasters opened for her (I adored the Coasters, so I was super excited) we were at the VIP table in the front-center, and I was the only person there under 40. The Coasters front man was fascinated that a young'un was in attendance, and pulled me on stage where I got yo sing the last half of Save the Last Dance with them. (I was shitting myself!)

Then Brenda Lee came out, sang a set, took a moment to do some crowd work, acknowledge my aunt, chatted with me & had a similar reaction as The Coasters. She asked me to match her pitch, which got a giggle from the crowd because i kept harmonizing to whatever note she sang. Its an alto's knee jerk reaction, IYKYK. She got back on stage & finished her set with Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree. (She always closes with that song whether it's Christmas or not). She must do things like this or have a break in the song to talk to the audience or something, because the music kind of paused in the middle. And she said that Christmas is for children. And since the closest we have to a child is me, she'd love me to come help her finish the song. It was magical.

I had had the coolest experience that weekend, And could not wait to tell my friends...they could not have cared less. They were so unimpressed, had no idea who Brenda Lee or The Coasters were, and thought that maybe I was on drugs to makeup a story about getting on stage with famous people🤷‍♀️

I still have a photo somewhere of us together after the show.

That is so cool! My favorite of her songs is Sweet Nothin’s which she did at 14 or 15 years old. Blows my little mind. 🤣🤣🤣

This is a fantastic story. How special you had to have felt that day! And look at you singing and harmonizing along!

Inflatable lawn decorations suck. They look awful most of day just laying dead in yard. Look like trash bags just thrown about. If you use these to decorate your house there’s a good chance I hate you.
