Maybe I should have been clearer. They should have put them out of business. A strike here, a strike there is nothing. Biden, Trump, potato tomato... A force needs to be deployed to be on patrol 24/7 for the Houthis and Somali pirates. Ships have water cannons etc, fuck that, they need squads of armed soldiers. Assault groups to attack on shore. This should not be a US led initiative, but an international one.
Fair enough.
Just be ready for the bill to come due.
The Houthis, etc, are in a catbird position to conduct some majorly disruptive, costly, and potentially deadly (to human lives and the environment) asymmetrical warfare if they get desperate / further radicalized from the intensified military action many are advocating.
Also:
I’m not debating the right or wrong of intensified military action, only pointing out that there should be no bitching when things inevitably get FUBAR. Intensified military action is NOT a “no brainer” - it’s a risky proposition.
Also:
My main point of directing you to that article, was to counter the narrative that President Biden did nothing to address the Houthis, and to expose the hypocrisy of the republicans who were challenging even the limited military actions that President Biden took against the Houthis.
From the article I posted:
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene weighed in as well, tweeting that “the President must come to Congress for permission before going to war. Biden can not solely decide to bomb Yemen.”
