♡♡ 101 Things We Love About Our Brit Lovers ♡♡

Having read the recent posts, I feel I should point something out.

There are many many British people who cannot make a good cup of tea!

The secret is to really let it brew, if making it in a mug with a bag, for 5 minutes.

If it is being made in a teapot, then longer.

There is an ongoing debate about whether you should put milk in first or after the hot water, and people get very passionate about it!

I'm an 'after' person. I think if putting it before, my tea would cool too quickly. This is only if I'm making Chai Tea, of course. Otherwise, no milk. Then, again, I'm American - what do I know.

Well, I learned recently, and I don't know if it is true, that historically in England it was the poorer people that put milk in first and the wealthy after.

The reason being that the poorer people could only afford clay cups, and these were liable to crack and break with the heat. Therefore they put the milk in first to cool it slightly to prevent this.

The wealthier people had china cups which could take the heat, and so there was no need to use milk first.

Sounds plausible!

It makes perfect sense to me.
