I'm not in a similar time zone... what is it... 3 hours difference? Yeah... not enough to cause a problem for skilled brats... I'm totally with you!!!!

I'm missing an @BrendaBear concert to go with my drinks! (No pressure, though, I know genius doesn't work on command!)

I don't know how genius works... but dig this: I bought this cool gizmo that should allow me to have much higher quality in my recordings. The downer is, I need to figure out how to use it. For my first run, I tried an old school bomp-t-bomp blues thing. I laid down the bass line, using a artificial drum for the meter and backbeat (@Qky75 are you still around and interested in more collaborating?). Then I tried to play some lead with the pink guitar... and, it was just too much. I wasn't digging that. So I switched to my Cocobolo semi-hollow strat style guitar. I'm really so in love with this guitar, it is so cool.... anyway... I hook up the iPhone to film it (my usual thing), I have my headphones on, and this new gizmo sitting right there. I start the iPhone recording. I start the gizmo recording. I can hear the fake drum beat going, and the bass part I already recorded, and I let it rip.

I made a few mistakes that made me giggle (as usual), but was pretty happy with what I played. So then I turn everything off, go back to the gizmo which I'm thinking recorded this cool take... and .... no guitar. I did something wrong, and there was no guitar on that take recorded.

I'm pretty sure I know what I did wrong, but now I have to set everything up again, to try again. And those Friday evening Bushmills shots might be kicking in...

At any rate, if this works, I'll end up with a fairly average, common, blues bomp-d-bomp that isn't particularly remarkable, but... it will be me playing both the bass and guitar, and should have really good sound quality. Hopefully, we'll see.

What does that song mean?!? I've heard it before but never got it.

It isn't deep, at all. Just about cooperation... and it is kind of dopey, but oh so cute. Roller skates in 1970 were these metal frames with metal wheels that you attached with straps to your shoes. But they also had a metal "key" (a wrench) to adjust the sizing to fit the shoe. Thus, I have roller skates, you have a key. They kind of need each other to work.

So... having said all that, which I apologize was already known, I always loved that song anyway. I think it's adorable cute.

Did I mention Bushmills? Yep! Irish whiskey works!

I didn't understand most of that, but what I got was that you had fun but it didn't record, which sucks. And if you're recording more, you think it will be average, which I don't think is possible!

Update.... 120 miles in. Been very up and down race but that's the deal..spent a thunderstorm under a saw dust shelter on a farm..just grabbed pizza and a hotel room to charge devices, dry clothes out, eat real food,.shower and get a quick three hour nap on before I head back out.

Whatever it was... just... wow. I truly am in awe of what you are taking on. I would gladly drive 120 miles in an hour or two (depending on my car)... but run or walk that distance?
