I just tried it on my iPad with Safari (I never Lit from my iPhone). And it did the thing, shows me the gif perfectly in edit mode, and then a link in release.

Edit: And this is me posting the same GIF from my PC. But what's also crazy is, while the link I got from going to that GIF in giphy myself, worked here on the PC. It actually copied something different to the clipboard (which didn't work) when I clicked on the link, to open it in giphy, then told it to copy the link to the clipboard.

So weird!

Sharing links and so forth is crazy business around here. My smugness when one works is always short-lived.

I've also had things inadvertently carry data from the person who shared the link, too, even though it just looked like the shared item on my computer. It's very weird. And frustrating sometimes.

Dig this... using my knowlege about how the internet and HTML, I can paste it this way.

EDIT: Wow.... they are embedding a whole bunch of extra information in the links that we are getting from giphy. Maybe because of what @HollyS was talking about. I have been pasting all these "copy to clipboard" outputs into a notepad document, so I can compare them. And they are always really long. But when I extracted out just the last part of the path, and pasted it into the middle of a gif I "copy to clipboard" that I made myself - much shorter path, and it works just fine.
