🎅☃️❄️Ho-Ho-Holiday Movie Showdown🎄🤶📽

It's now 2pm and the match is tied 8-8. It is now my sad duty to break the first tie in the tournament. In the splitiest of split decisions, this match goes to the whimsy of White Christmas. Dickens had three chances in this tournament and all three will fall in the quarterfinals. And then there were four! Let the semifinals begin!

Semifinal Match-up #1

Die Hard

vs.

Home Alone

In the corner to my left the holiday movie with highest body count in the tournament, Detective Jake Peralta's favourite, slayer of Skelingtons and Scrooges, Die Hard. And in the corner to my right, a holiday movie whose body count should realistically be at least two, the master of home defense, the slayer of Tim Allen and Chevy Chase, Home Alone. Let the clash of hyper-holiday-violence begin!
We all know Die hard isn't a Christmas movie. 🤣
Definitely Home Alone, I think the stunts are better aswell 😆

I have no problem with die hard being a Christmas movie. In fact it's perfect it's matched up with Home Alone since they are basically the same movie. Kevin McAllister is the eight year old version of John McClain. The house is his nakatomi tower. Argyle is basically the old dude withh the snow shovel waiting til the end to crack a few bad guys. And the home alone franchise died because they didn't have the intelligence to get Samuel l Jackson to save them down the road. But when it comes to the originals I'm going with home alone for the simple reason that Christmas movies are better with snow and Kevin's mom trying to get back is a nice side story

And there's an incredible amount of laughs...and pizza!

Die Hard.

The winner of the semifinal and now qualifying as the first finalist for the Ho-Ho-Holiday Movie Showdown, by split decision (9-7), Die Hard! I guess paint cans and icy steps are no match for automatic weapons... who knew? Now to decide Die Hard's opponent for the finals.

Semifinal Match-up #2

Miracle on 34th Street

vs.

White Christmas

In the corner to my left, a movie that has us all believing in Santa Claus, it beat women and muppets to get here, Miracle on 34th Street! And in the corner to my right, the all singing, all dancing, all feel good movie that thrashed little Ralphie and Tiny Tim, White Chistmas! Let the battle of sappy, feel good movies commence!

White Christmas

I knew the choices would get tougher, and at this point, there are no losers.

Both are favorites of mine, but White Christmas gets my vote.

Tied again, currently four all, if @MiaBabe23 doesn't want to be disappointed by another tie break, somebody step up and break the tie! One hour of overtime starts now.
