I’m not entirely sure. I’ve gone to send a pm to someone I thought I had connected at least on a friendship level and not been able to, either blocked or not wanted.
I PM and have received PMs from people who I don't interact much in the threads so I guess PMs are not always that serious for me. I've also let a lot of good people and conversations end in my PMs just because I got busy or forgot to respond when it was my turn. I can still happily engage with people in threads even if we didn't have enough to talk about in PMs to keep going in a PM.
