Do you have a specific word for these days between Xmas and New Year?

We do here, it's "intermediate days" (and no, it's not official, but everybody knows it). Many take these off work if possible. For me these are the time to recover so that I can enjoy New Year with my partner. I don't intend to do any cooking before the eve...

I was about to say I'm envious. But then I checked the forecast, and seems like we're finally getting proper winter weather here! ❄️
It’s quite pretty this morning, although with my bad back I’ll be cursing up a storm when I get out and shovel…

Pleeease... Is there anyone to make me a big hot chocolate? With rum or cointreau?

The storm last night (which also kept me awake past 4am) caused a power outage on our summer cabin. I was desperately in need of another rest day, but we had to go inspecting the damage with my mom - the only relatively healthy family members within reasonable distance. Thankfully no trees fell on the buildings, but checking the 3 hectares (i.e. 30 000 m2) and then crossing the obstacle course of a bunch of spruce trees that had fallen in a bunch did me in. Now my legs are aching and I'm exhausted, but I'm still all wound up.

And I'm actually considering one offline as well... Would make recovery slower, but help with the pain faster than a bunch of painkillers.

After shoveling snow yesterday I was beat for the rest of the day. I went to bed and slept for twelve hours. I didn’t get up until 1 pm!

Will this help? I've been busy lately getting ready for a move...

We had just -5C yesterday, but with plenty of windchill as well. Today -10...-12 even without windchill, so it's a very chilly NYE!

I think we'll prefer hot glögg/mulled wine over anything sparkly.
